Porto Antigo has its own small sandy beach and large swimming pool. It is the prime spot in Santa Maria. Apartment is about 50 yards from sea. Towels and linen provided. Small safe.

The Sal Island region
Sal is pretty much a desert island, which is rapidly becoming a holiday hot spot as it offers year round sunshine at its closest to Europe.
You can sunbathe in December and January and the summer months remain comfortable due to the Westerly breeze.
Santa Maria area
Santa Maria is the main resort. A great laid back location,sitting alongside a long gently curving stretch of beautiful clean sand beach.
From front of airport, Sal is small enough for all taxi drivers to know where Porto Antigo is. Santa Maria is a 20min drive from the airport and should cost app 10Euros by taxi. Reception at front.

Further details outdoors: Great for small family or couple beach holiday. Safe, protected, sandy beach within the small harbour which lies within the complex.
There are also long stretches of sand beaches a few yards further away. Excellent also for watersports, 300 yards from prime windsurfing centre. Fishing, scuba, kite-surfing also available.
