Ilha do Fogo apartments are located in the centre of Santa Maria, a small and quiet town with lots of character bordering a white sandy beach, which stretches out from the town for 5 miles. This great 2 bedroom apartment is located in a quiet yet central area and very near to the town's fish restaurants and bars. Still in an early stage of development, the town has a great atmosphere. The apartment is brand new and is situated 50 yards from the waters edge and therefore a stone's throw from the beach. The apartment is tastefully furnished in a modern style with clean lines. The kitchen includes a hob, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave. The bathroom is well equipped and has a shower but no bath. Bathroom towels and linen are supplied and regular maid service is included - please bring your own beach towels. Reception nearby. (1 bedroom apartment also available next door - please enquire).

In Santa Maria, you’ll find a serene beach bar or two where you can sit listening to the waves crash in, a good handful of vibrant pubs filled with animated tourists and locals alike or if you want to be where it’s at, head for local night hotspot ‘The Pirata’.Cape Verde certainly isn’t the place to shop ’til you drop, but if peeking your head around colourful doorways to see what you find sounds like your kind of retail therapy, then you’ll love shopping here. Santa Maria’s charm lies in its cobbled streets, which are buzzing with atmosphere, whether it’s children playing an impromptu game of football or upbeat music drifting from a paveside cafe. In addition to the two banks and supermarket, a delightful mixed bag of shops await you, from surf places selling beach gear to rustic makeshift shops painted in every colour of the rainbow where you can buy intricately carved wooden masks and brightly coloured canvas’ by local artists. Have a browse, and maybe a barter, at the indoor market which is bursting with jewellery, clothing and fresh produce stalls, and don’t miss the Centro de Artesanato, an arts and crafts store with shelves full of elegant ceramic pieces and leather goods.

Further details indoors: This new first floor two bedroom apartment is situated 50 yards from the waters edge and therefore a stone's throw from the beach. The apartment has a double aspect living room and faces south and west with excellent sea and beach views. One of the bedrooms also looks directly onto the beach with excellent sea views. The comfortable sofa bed in a spacious living area allows you to sleep up to six people. The apartment is tastefully furnished in a modern style with clean lines. The kitchen includes a hob, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave. The bathroom is well equipped and has a shower but no bath. Bathroom towels and linen are supplied and regular maid service is included - please bring your own beach towels. We have a reception just around the corner for your convenience. Ilha do Fogo is in the final stages of completion and should be ready for occupancy at the end of April '07. We are taking bookings from 7th of June. Earlier dates will become available closer to time.
