Leuca is right at the tip of Italy' s heel in fact its ancient Latin name is De Finibus Terrae ( Land's End). Its location is magical,for centuries pilgrimages were made to its Sanctuary. Its beauty is stunning, the coastline is part rock, part sand, it has something to offer to all tastes. The crystal clear sea is home to many different types of sealife and ideal for snorkelling or deep sea diving.There are lots of sea caves to explore by boat, (boat hire or excursions are available ),on foot (Grotta della Zinzulusa) or if you prefer you can just relax on a sandy beach and work on your tan.The promenade is backed by elegant, noble villas built in the last century and is where the locals meet and stroll in the warm summer evenings.There is a lively port which accommodates both the simple fisherman's boat and the millionaire's yacht.
In the summer months, Leuca pulses with life and you are spoilt for choice if searching for somewhere to eat or a nightclub to dance the night away.The Spring and Autumn months are quieter and for those who want to immerse themselves in the wonderful sights,smells and sensations that this magnificent coastal region has to offer.

The Puglia/Molise region

There are beautiful ancient towns to discover like Gallipoli, Otranto or Lecce, known as the Florence of the South, famous for its baroque architecture. The coastline is famous in Italy for its beautiful, clean beaches and crystal clear seas. You will leave your heart in this unspoilt paradise.
Santa Maria di Leuca area
Leuca and the nearby coastline offers a wide range of opportunities from lazing on a white sandy beach or diving from the high rocks to exploring the rock pools. You can book a boat excursion to visit one of the many sea caves which characterize this part of the coast. There is also the possibility of hiring a boat yourself and trying your hand at fishing. You can stroll along the quay and look at the yachts and enjoy a drink in one of the bars overlooking the sea. Snorkelling and deep sea diving are must dos as it' s easy to see brightly coloured fish swimming around your feet.

How to get there
There is an international airport in Bari and Brindisi. You can hire a car from there and drive down or take a coach to Lecce and then to Leuca.
