This splendid 18th century villa once owned by nobility offers privacy and tranquility with wonderful views across the bay and is within walking distance of the sandy beach( 5 minutes ) and the main village and shops ( approx 20 minutes walk). The main villa consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 6 whilst the adjoining annexe bedroom with bathroom sleeps a further 2 and has a separate entrance via the courtyard. The beautiful villa retains an air of charm and grace with its faded facades, arched terraces, frescoed stone stariway, whilst the pigionery tower and antique waterwell add to the original features of this wonderful building. Situated in the picturesque village of Santa Maria di Castellabate in the Cilento National Park area one can enjoy the historic villa whilst discovering the area which offers a combination of unspoilt sandy beaches, art, history, culture and tradition

The Campania region
Santa Maria di Castellabate is situated on the stunning and unspoilt Cilento cost which in turn lies in the Cilento National Park a combination of sandy beaches, rocky coves, verdant hills and historic villages make this an attractive spot to visit. It is off the beaten tourist track and offers a wonderful opportunity to discover medieval villages in the hills untouched by modernisation whilst the better known tourist attractions are ashort trip away. Most day trips taken include the Amalfi coast Pompei Vesuvius, the island of Capri and exploration further south to Palinuro.The mild climate in Spring and Autumn means that it one can enjoy the outdoors whilst the summer months of July and August although hot can be enjoyed by the sea.
Santa Maria di Castellabate area
Santa Maria di Castellabate originally a fishing village and has an attractive pedestrian centre street which runs parallel to the coast along which there are a wide selection of shops, bars and gelaterias. During the high summer season (August) it is a lively centre whilst in the lower seasons is returns to being a tranquil village. There is a local weekly market and the area offers a wide selection of restaurants serving traditional dishes with local products - fish, pastas wines and olive oils The nearby hilltop medieval village of Castellabate can be reached in a short bus or car drive and is a UNESCO heritage site with its windy alleyways ,steps and stone buildings it offers stunning historical preservation and wonderful views of the coast whilst the neighbouring village with its picturesque harbour can be reached in a short drive or by walking along the beach from Santa Maria The historic and archaelogical sites in the area are plentiful the Greek Temples of Paestum with the museum are a 20 minute drive whilst Velia further south provides also a fascinating insight into Greek civilisation . Pompei provides an exiting day excursion The Amalfi coast with the picturesque towns of Amalfi, Ravello, Positano Sorrento and the Island of Capri can be visited in a day by car or boat trips The Padula Charterhouse and Caserta Palace ,the caves of Castelcivita and Padula not to mention exploring the local area provide interesting outings other activities: boat excursions,local markets in the villages, roller skating park during summer months

Further details indoors: The ground floor has antique terracotta tiling and consists of a living area with antique stone fireplace sofa couch and arm chairs with satellite TV adjoining is a separate dining area with solid wooden table which gives onto the courtyard patio area ideal for outdoor dining al fresco.The kitchen with cooker, fridge freezer has colourful vietri tiling a wooden dining table and chairs and leads onto the wild fruit orchard where one can collect the fragrant oranges and lemons in season. Access to the upper floor is via the grand partly covered external frescoed stairway which leads to the hall accomodating a table tennis table and opens onto a long terrace from which one can enjoy stunning views across the coast as far as the Amalfi coast and the Island of Capri The upper floor consists of 3 light and airy bedrooms decorated in colourful mediterranean style with coloured vietri tiling all enjoy wonderful views across the sea and there are 2 bathrooms one complete with shower and the other with separate shower unit and bathtub. The twin bedroom and one double have terrace doors which open onto a balcony running along part of the front of the villa with views across olive grove to the sea. The twin bedroom is very large and can accommodate a further single bed ( at extra charge)
Further details outdoors: There is a walled patio courtyard with table and chairs for dining outdoors with a sun umbrella further smaller tables on upper terrace with chairs and sun loungers are also on the upper floor terrace. A gated entrance opens onto the drive flanked by olive trees which leads to the villa where parking is available Beyond the courtyard lie the extensive private grounds where there are hundreds of olive trees and fig trees
