About the home

Villa Elaia is situated in a scenery of immeasurable beauty, dipped in the tranquillity of an olive grove, to approximately 500 meters from the centre of the wonderful village of 'SANTA MARIA DI CASTELLABATE' and from the sea.
The apartment rented is Ortice and it is on the first floor of the Villa. The apartment has a surface of about 55 m² and has three rooms: two bedroom and a dining room with kitchen area, bathroom and one big terrace of about 25 m² with a wonderful sight sea. First bedroom has a double bed, second bedroom has a two single beds. The dining room has sofa bed, a table for four people and a kitchen area furnished with oven, microwave, toaster, boiler and full cooking utensils . Bathroom has shower, bidet, hair dryer washing machine and iron. The terrace has table for four, two beach chairs, a garden seat, sun curtains and a barbecue. The apartment has a wi-fi internet connection and all rooms are equipped of conditioned air, linen and towels . The property is encircled from a common garden of approximately 1000 m². The apartment has a private parking car.

Villa Elaia has others five apartments of two bedroom (two on the first floor and three on the ground floor) and one attic with one bedroom. First floor flats enjoy a wide terrace with sight sea. The Campania region

The NATIONAL PARK OF CILENTO E VALLO DI DIANO is the second largest park in Italy and the first in Campania. The Santa Maria di Castellabate area

CASTELLABATE, ancient medieval village, whose name derives from the imposing size of the "Castle of Abbot", dominates the wide natural inlet from Licosa to Tresino. The ancient village is secured on a hill nearly to peak on the short plain below where they are stretched the two main fractions of the village, SANTA MARIA DI CASTELLABATE and SAN MARCO DI CASTELLABATE.

SANTA MARIA DI CASTELLABATE, colourful seafaring village, has become in the last years a famous international tourist destination thanks to the marvellous coast and its ability to conserve intact in the time the ancient traditions of the Cilento. Covering the coast towards south, it is arrived to the other graceful village of fishermen, SAN MARRCO DI CASTELLABATE.. The small village turns out particularly graceful beyond that for the evocative beach for the presence of the small port from which it is possible to reach Licosa reservoir marine

CASTELLABATE is the ideal starting point to discover the numerous attractions of the Cilento National park . Moreover various localities of world-wide reputation are reached easily: archaeological sites of Paestum and Pompei, famous islands of Ischia, Capri and Procida, the wonderful amalfitana coast, splendid cities of Naples and Salerno.

- Naples Capodichino airport, to take the freeway A3 Naples - Salerno, to escape Battipaglia or Eboli, to continue on SS 18 following indications for Paestum, Agropoli , to escape to Agropoli south and to take direction Santa Maria di Castellabate.
- salerno costa d'amalfi airport, following indication to Battipaglia, Paestum Agropoli, to Agropoli south and to take direction Santa Maria di Castellabate.

By train: - Agropoli railway station, possibility to rent a car or organized transfer, Castellabate is far from Agropoli 20 minutes by car.

By car: - from the north to follow direction toward Rome - Caserta - Salerno then A3 Salerno - Reggio Calabria, escape Battipaglia or Eboli to continue on SS 18 following indications for Paestum, Agropoli ,to escape to Agropoli south and to take direction Santa Maria di Castellabate.

"The flat is set in a beautiful location surrounded by olive groves and plenty of green, mostly quiet. The flat is very tastefully decorated and, as far as holiday homes go, it has everything you could wish for in terms of comfort. It features furthermore a huge balcony, fully furnished with garden furniture where you can sunbathe or chill away form everything else. The seaside is about a 10 minutes walk down a sometimes steep path which cuts through the delightful village thus making the walk very pleasant. The sea is crystal clear and the locals are friendly and helpful. The owner of the property was easy to reach and always willing to help if needed. I would definitely consider staying there again." We stayed in the Saracena apartment in Villa Elaia the first week of September 2009 as a base for exploring Il Cilento. Both the area and the Villa can be highly recommended. The scenery of the National Park is indeed breathtaking and Santa Maria di Castellabate is one of the most attractive villages on the coast. Recommended trips: old medieval hilltop villages like Castellabate & Lustra, Paestum, the walk from S. Marco to Pta Licosa, the coastline south of Sapri. No mass tourisme which makes a complete different atmosphere. Friendly and helpful people, delicious food. The apartment has contributed a lot to our good moods :-) The description and pictures on the website are accurate. The house is clean and very well maintained. What we really appreciated was the immense private terrace outside the apartment; we have spent hours there bbq-ing fresh fish and reading our books under the olive tree. It is a 5 min (steep) walk to the village beach which is nice, sandy and romantic with all these old buildings at the background. Try lunch at the terrace of "new hotel Sophia" on the beach; perfect fish dishes. Alfonso the owner lives in a village nearby. He is friendly and very helpful. Thinking of something negative the only thing that comes to mind is the problem with the garbage that lies around in the area. It has not spoiled our fun though. If you like to explore a new region in Italy, don't like mass tourism and prefer a central and comfortable place to stay Villa Elaia can be truly recommended. Johanna&Eveline Amsterdam, Netherlands

We have been visiting Villa Elaia and St Maria di Castellabate now for the third time, and we are really very happy about our vacation there. The apartment is very nice, clean, everything is working wirhout problem and the service is exellent! The view from the apartment is just fantastic! The little village of St Maria is very charming, with many nice shops and restaurants, and wounderfoul beaches. The flat is rented weekly from Saturday 4 p.m. to Saturday 10.30 a.m. It is possible having same flexibility during low season. Prices are for a max of five people and include water, electricity, gas. A set of sheets and towels is included in the price, an extra set is charged at Eur 20. It is required a charge of Eur 40 for the final cleaning. A deposit of Eur 100 is required the day of the arrival and it is given back the departure day after having checked the good shape of the flat. To book the flat is required an advance of 30% and the difference will be payed the day of arrival.
