Hotel Residence near S. Maria di Castellabate, Salerno, Campania, Italy. Private beach and sea views, this is a wonderful place for your holiday. We are situated in a magnificent position in the heart of the Cilento National Park, a green oasis of tranquillity right on the sea but near the village centre. The main building houses the hotel, restaurant and bar while the annex has 12 stone cottages (divided in 28 apartments) equipped for self-catering.

Immersed in a sea of green, the hotel has a private beach, ample parking and each elegantly furnished room has a balcony with either sea or countryside view - the perfect spot to relax and de-stress. Santa Maria di Castellabate is a lovely and romantic village situated on the unspoilt Cilento Coast within the Cilento National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site. The coastline and water of Santa Maria were awarded the European Blue Flag for cleanliness and environmental awareness in 1999.

The Campania region

CAMPANIA:

Campania is a region of Southern Italy, bordering on Latium to the north-west, Abruzzo and Molise to the north, Apulia to the north-east, Basilicata to the east, and the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west. The region covers 13,595 km² and has a population of 5.8 million.

The name derives from Latin, as it was called by Romans Campania felix ("fortunate countryside").
Tourist attractions include the Sibyl's cave at Cumae, the Greek temples at Paestum, the Roman ruins at Pompeii and Herculaneum, the volcanoes of Vesuvius, Campi Flegrei, the Amalfi Coast (Costiera Amalfitana) , the Sorrento Peninsula (Penisola Sorrentina) and the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida.

CILENTO:

The coast (on Tyrrhenian Sea) is located betwenn Paestum and the Gulf of Policastro, near the town of Sapri. More of touristic towns by the coast are "frazioni"; as for example Santa Maria di Castellabate, Acciaroli, Velia, Palinuro, Marina di Camerota, Scario and Policastro Bussentino.

The inner boundaries are the Alburni mountains and Vallo di Diano, sometimes considered as part of cilentan geographical region, which has in Sala Consilina its largest centre. The most important towns in this area are Vallo della Lucania (in the middle), Sapri and Agropoli: this is the largest town of Cilento and the principal harbour. Most of this area is included in "Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park".

Santa Maria di Castellabate area

Santa Maria di Castellabate is an italian hamlet (frazione) of Castellabate (SA), the greatest one of its comune and one of the greatest in the province of Salerno. It is also the seat of the town hall. The downtown is extended by two squares, Piazza Matarazzo and Piazza Lucia, and the oldest houses are located in front of the little harbour, in a place named "Porte le Gatte".

Geography
Santa Maria lies in the central-northern side of Cilento, by Tyrrhenian Sea, and is extended from the zone of Lago to the beach of Pozzillo. The town is far 3 km from Castellabate, 12 from Agropoli, 20 from Acciaroli and 60 from Salerno. The town has a little harbour, the greatest port in the comune is on the nearer hamlet of San Marco.

It is a very nice place for holidays, due to the quality of its water; which give it the Blue Flag beach every year from 2003.Castellabate' cuisine is based on local products: wine, olive oil, cheese (such as mozzarella), garbanzo beans, salami, and confections made with figs.San Marco di Castellabate(1,5 km far) itself is a small fishing village and boasts a small port mooring many fishing vessels, and in the summer months yachts and leisure boats.

The apartments have 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room. Generally a room has got a double bed and a room has got 2 single beds. Some apartments are bigger then others so it is possible to have 3 beds in a room or a sofabed in a living room as extras. The bathroom has got wc, bidet and a shower.

Further details outdoors:
Outside you will find a private beach, plants, trees much greenery and outdoor space. In our structure you can find a very nice Mediterranean restaurant and an Italian bar. Private parking is included. By the beach you can walk to S. Maria or to S. Marco di Castellabate (10 minutes by foot), 2 little towns that are characteristic, interesting and full of Italian culture and tastes.The Pozzillo beach(distance: 5 metre), is famous for the quality of its water which gives it the Blue Flag beach every year from 2003. The beach is sand and is private(inclusive in the price) with beach umbrella, beach beds and chairs.

The apartments are of different types, on different floors, some with terraces, some with balconies. We kindly ask you to provide us your special requests, such as lower or upper floor or others, upon reservation. Many apartments have got air-conditioning and satellite TV, ask by e-mail before renting. No pets allowed.

If you are interested in reserving the apartment, the down-payment is 20% of the price and can be paid by bank transfer. The balance can be paid at your arrival.Changeover day is flexible. Arrival from noon; departure until 10am.

These are rates based on four people occupying the two-bedroom apartment, inclusive of private parking and private beach, and linens.

For our other apartments which can accommodate 5 guests, add €20/day in July and €30/day in August. For six guests, the surcharge is €40/day.
