This lovely villa is of new construction and is decorated throughout in soft pastel blue and rustic cream colours. It consists of 3 bedrooms with views of the surrounding countryside, one bathroom with shower, kitchen dining area with satelite TV with terrace windows giving onto a balcony which extends around one side of the building, ideal for relaxing or dining `al fresco`. Accommodation is situated on the 1st floor of the building and offers total privacy since the lower floor is used for storage. Set in the country yet a 5-7 minute walk to the beach the villa offers views of the vineyards on one side of the house, whilst the fragrant lemon trees and silvery green olive groves complete the panorama on the other sides within an enclosed area. The Campania region
The campania region is a vast area stretching along the coast and inland to the mont Alburni mountain range. Santa Maria nestles in a wide open bay consisting of several sandy beaches and a backdrop of hills with small undisturbed medieval villages . The neighbouring village of San Marco with its picturesque port can be reached in a short bus/car drive . The medieval village of Castellabate now under the patronage of the UNESCO can also be reached in a short bus/car drive and offers stunning views of the coast whilst one can explore its hidden alleyways and marvel at its historic architecture. It is still an inhabited medieval village which has conserved many of its original features and boasts such personalities of Napoleon Bonaparte and Leon Cavallo as past guests Excursion possibilities The area offers a variety of choice for excursions to the better known tourist attractions- the historic sites of Pompeii and Greek temples and museum of Paestum and Velia, the dramatic cliff-like Amalfi coast with the picturesque towns of Amalfi, Ravello, Positano, Sorrento and the Island of Capri. The caves of Pertosa and Castelcivita and Palinuro also offer a fascinating outing. Boat excursions to Palinuro also available In Santa Maria one can also go on boat excursions,tennis and other sports activites as well as a large roller skating and trampoline park for children
Santa Maria di Castellabate area
The village of Santa Maria di Castellabate is situated on the beautiful and unspoilt Cilento Coastline which in turn lies in the Parco Nazionale del Cilento a natural parkland reserve which stretches along the coast and inland to the hill of Vallo di Diano. It is situated 120 km south of Naplesa dn 50km south of the Amalfi coast. offering a wonderful combination of wide sandy bays, rocky coves, verdant hillside and natural flora and fauna. The many sandy beaches in and around Santa Maria di Castellabate were recently awarded the 'bandiera blu' for their clean seas. The village of Santa Maria runs parallel to the coast and offers a variety of shops, bars and gelaterias, whilst the area boasts a wide selection of good restaurants offering genuine local cuisine. Ideal for those wishing to enjoy the sea in a typical Italian coastal environment and yet have access to places of historical and cultural interest in the vicinity The village centre of Santa Maria is a pedestrian area with a selections of shops ice cream bars and supply shops -fruit and vegetable, bakery,fishmonger,ham and cheese delicatessen. There is a weekly Saturday market in Santa Maria and during the week in the neighbouring village of San Marco and Agropoli. I f you enjoy walking/hiking there are wonderful walks along the coast to punta licosa or in the trezene hills .

Further details indoors: The light and airy feel of the apartment is seen in the clear blue hues in which it is decorated and reflects the feeling of the nearby sea. One double bedroom has terrace doors which give onto a private balcony with views of the hills whilst the other also has a balcony which continues to the front of the building. The kitchen unit runs along one wall and the dining area gives onto the large outdoor balcony. The villa is surrounded by its own land consisting of vineyards and lemon trees and an area for growing local vegetables in season. It provides an ideal spot for relaxing or partaking of activities that go with a lively summer resort or as a comfortable base for excursions.
Further details outdoors: The outside terrace is an ideal spot for relaxing, sunbathing, reading. There is a table and 6 chairs and adjoining the kitchen area it provides and ideal spot for dining 'al fresco' . There are 2 loungers and a sun umbrella The villa is situated in the area known as Zona Lago with the Trezene hills in the background it is part of Santa Maria and offers a few supply shops pizzeria/ restaurants whilst the main village of Santa Maria with the pedestrian centre has a wider selection of shops, bars and restaurants and gelaterias and can be reached in a 5 minute drive or a 20-30 minute walk along the beach. The villa is situated in a rural area where the locals tend their vines, collect their olives or prepare their plots of land and yet is not isolated there being other properties nearby. The quiet village transforms into a lively summer resort offering a variety of nightlife

This is our 3rd year we can't stay away love the place the Clarke Family Uk We liked the villa and the fact that we could each have our own space I enjoyed reading my book on the terrace on shady side whilst my daughters sunbathed on the other tarrace. It was ideal for us being near the beach and the girls liked going out to the pedestrian village fo Santa Maria in the evenings the Hareper family
