Home description
Es Moli De Son Maiol is a restored farmhouse surrounded by acres of pine, almond, olive trees and a large swimming pool, all with the splendid back-drop of the North-Western mountain range. This delightful restored farmhouse, once the home of the miller, is situated in one of the unspoilt rural regions of the Island of Mallorca.
The house has been cleverly designed to make the maximum use of huge glass picture windows to ensure plenty of light. The light floods into the very large and spacious living/dining room and gives the feeling of there being no divide between inside and outside living. In this charmingly furnished living room, there is an open fire-place for chillier evenings. The decor and design of this property has been done by us and we thimk it creates a charming and extremely pleasing ambience, whilst providing everything one could need for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.
Outside there is a large 5m x 10m swimming pool set in a stone terrace and surrounded by a mature walled garden with lawns and areas shaded by trees.
Just above the pool is a covered terrace with large table and seating for al-fresco dining, and around the pool itself, plenty of pool furniture. There is also a full size tennis court available for guest's use.

The Mallorca/Majorca region
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands with 554 km of coastline. Mallorca's landscape is very varied, due to it's geological formation. Mallorca has it's own distinct culture and language which has a lot in common with that of Catalunya. From the northwest to the southwest, the land gradually leads down to the sea, forming bays, long beaches such as Es Trenc and small coves of fine sand and transparent, green water, tinged with the reflection of the pines and fig trees which reach the shore. These offer excellent opportunities to sunbathe, swim, enjoy water sports such as sailing and diving among the reefs. In the southwest of Mallorca is the huge Bay of Palma, which protects and shelters the former kingdom's capital. Majorca is also neighboured by a number of tiny islands that offer sanctuary to birds and rare reptiles. Long before its beaches ever became known, visitors to the Island of Calm, as Santiago Russinyol called it, were fascinated by Mallorca's enormous number of monuments, outstanding buildings, art galleries and literature. Not only were they attracted by famous historic monuments in Palma itself, such as the Cathedral, Bellver Castle, the Royal Palace, "Sa Llotja", the Gran Hotel, the Museum of Mallorca, but also by the monasteries, watch towers, cloisters, churches, town halls and museums which Mallorca's fifty-two towns and villages feature.
Santa Maria del Cami area
Santa Maria is far from a touristic area, it has the best village marquet of the whole island on Sundays and it is very nice for people to go there and buy fress fruit, vegetables, olives, cheese... Santa maria is well know for the best wine cellers of Spain and very good typical Mallorquin restorants. Hand made pottery and leather is also very popular in the area.
How to get there
