This immaculate new luxury apartment is on the first floor. The Residence Ginevra at Santa Maria al Bagno,is near historic Lecce and Gallipoli, on Puglia’s Ionian coast. It has a double-bedroom and a twin-bedded room. The apartment benefits from air-conditioning and a large roof terrace. It also has shared use of a private swimming pool. The development is located within a mile of the marina and pristine beaches of Santa Maria al Bagno. The local area offers numerous outdoor activities, including sailing, golf and water sports, while there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity.

The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia, the heel of Italy’s boot, has much to commend it to holidaymakers. The area has long been a magnet for northern Italians, with its marvellous climate, guaranteed sunshine, glorious beaches, crystal clear water, wonderful food, wine, and ancient culture.

But when summer ends and the Italians return to work, the region’s many attractions draw in a growing number of British visitors, who relish the balmy climate, well into the winter months, the near-deserted beaches, and the restored tranquillity.


What else does Puglia have? The list goes on and on.
It boasts the longest coastline of any Italian region, the eastern side of the peninsula facing the Adriatic and the western side facing the Ionian. The beaches are clean, the water crystal clear.

The climate is reliable, too. The summers are hot, spring and autumn are usually gloriously warm and the winters are invariably mild. The rainfall is the lowest in Italy.
Puglia produces more wine and olive oil than any other Italian region. The food is invariably organic, with plenty of locally produced pasta, vegetables, cheeses, meats and, of course, wonderful seafood.

For culture vultures, there are plenty of places to visit, from the ancient fishing port of Gallipoli, to the stunning Baroque city of Lecce, and the World Heritage Site at Alberobello, the heart of ‘trulli’ country.

Santa Maria Al Bagno area

Santa Maria Al Bagno is approximately 45 mins travelling time by car from Brindisi and approximately 1hr 30 mins from Bari. Ryan Air fly to and from Brindisi and Easy Jet to and from Bari.

Santa Maria Al Bagno is a small village location, which is located on the coastline of the Gulf of Taranto and has beautiful unspoilt beaches all along the coast. The beach at San Isidoro is a very popular local beauty spot and is approximately 10 minuets by car, a little further along the coast fron San Isidoro is Port Cesareo. The historical port ofGallipoli is about 15 mins to the south by car. There is a large supermarket known as Tron or Familiar on the coast road to Galipoli, where you can buy all you need from soap to Champagne.

How to get there

The apartment is a 10-15-minute walk from the centre of the village, with its outstanding beach, and a 45-minute drive from Brindisi Airport, which is served by Ryanair from London Stansted. Easy Jet fly to Bari airport which is approximately a 90-minute drive.

Car hire is available on-line from most car hire comparison sites, we usually use Auto Europe, The pick up offices for car hire are just outside the arrivals lounge at Brindisi airport .

Also ther is a company called Tourismo d`autore that has just opened in Santa Maria al Bagno, they run a mini bus to & from the Brindisi Airport. Their sign also says they do local car hire. I will update there telephone number as soon as I have it.

Directions to apartment from centre/beach of Santa Maria al Bagno.
go up the hill road name `Via De Ferraris` follow the road round up the hill.
Continue following it round to the left,
DO NOT take any side roads off to the right until you see a B&B called HAPPY DAYS the turning to the apartment is the first right directly after the B&B.
Then Turn first right again and the apartments are at the end of the road.

Internal set up is set out with a lounge /diner . There is a sofa that seats upto 4 adults, there is a display unit with T.V & DVD player there is also a radio/CD player.

There kitchen area has a glass table & 4 chairs. A built-in cooker and hob, fridge/freezer & dish washer.

There are 2 double bedrooms 1 has a double bed, 1 has 2 single beds.

There is a bathroom with shower sink, toilet, and washing machine.

Outside there are 2 balconies there is also a roof terrace with table & 4 chairs and 4 sun loungers (which must remain on the roof terrace) There is also a shared swimming pool, and one parking space allocated to each apartment.

Conditions

There is a spiral staircase from the lounge balcony to the roof terrace. Due to these features we DO NOT consider the apartment suitable for young children under the age of 7 years. this must be at parents discretion.
