"Very nice apartement in a beautiful resort"
I can highly recomend this apartment. It has everything you need and comfortable beds and great located. It was very easy to make the booking eventhough it was at a short notice and there was no problems at arrival. It is a short 10 minut trip from the airport (about 10 Euro with a taxi) and the reception is very friendly and will welcome you warmly. The resort is very high standard, I belive it is the best on the island. It is beautiful and well organized, built with respect for the surrounding. At winter the beach next to the resort is not suitable for swimming, at least not for children, as there is a lot of wind and big waves - perfect for windsurfing. But a short drive or a nice walk along the coast to the closest city, Santa Maria, you will find a wonderful beach to go swimming. It is not crowded at all - in fact we were very surpriced to see how few people there was at the beaches.
Don´t forget to see the island while you are there. Go swimming with the lemonsharks and visit the other small cities. Restaurante-prices around the island are reasonable but not cheap as we had expected. In the winter you will not find a lot of fine fruits and the small supermarkets are rather expensive even for a danish person as me... Still, try to support the locals as they make their living af tourist, but dont forget to bargain (really hardcore bargain) when going to souvenirsshops - they are sometimes very pushy and start at prices dobble or triple the price you should pay.
The food at the resort is good. The desert is not really all that, but it looks nice....
