The three bodies of Villa Paladino, smartly standing on the ridge of a lush hill, with the ancient marble fountain full of water arum and water lily embellishing the whole, create a wonderful and amazing atmosphere in the exuberance of a nature lady of the site, full of different species of birds (we are close to Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano) in which the majestic peregrine falcon, and full of innumerable species of plants too. You see all this in a place between history and legend, that, embracing two gulfs and overlooking the green hills of Bagheria and Santa Flavia with the well-known eighteenth century villas and the Basilica Soluntina, leaves everybody breathless in front to so great natural and cultural treasures. You can look at spectacular sunsets on the sea sitting on the benches and deck chairs around the wonderful pool similar to a natural lake in the middle of a large Mediterranean garden. You can also look at the Gulf of Palermo and Monte Pellegrino too ("The most beautiful promontory of the world", said Goethe, the well known German poet who came in Sicily in 19th century) while swimming in the pool or looking out of the windows of your bedroom.

Villa is close to the Archaeological Park of Solunto and its Museum. The close Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano is a paradise for nature walks. Along the coast, the underwater archaeological site of Formica, is an attraction for people who enjoy diving. Boat trips with skipper in the clear waters around the Scoglio della Formica (the Rock of the Ant), home of dolphins, up to the Aeolian Islands and fishing can be arranged in summer.

200 meters away you may go sightseeing the touristic village of Santa Flavia and the fishing touristic villages of Porticello and Sant'Elia, where you can taste delicious Sicilian dishes, Sicilian wines, well-known typical cakes and cheeses, together with a lot of ancient local gastronomic specialties too.

About 1 Km. away, driving along the quite panoramic coast road that goes past Sant'Elia and the Natural Reserve of Monte Catalfano, you'll get the maritime village of Aspra and the promontory of Mongerbino, from which you can admire a breath-taking view on the gulf of Palermo and on Monte Pellegrino.

At the same distance you can admire the beautiful eighteenth century villas built by the best Sicilian nobility on the panoramic luxuriant hills of Bagheria.

In 30 minutes by car you can easily get to Palermo and go sightseeing the precious monuments, the historic centre, that is the biggest in Europe, where spectacular, endless, full of goods and sweet-smelling open-air markets take place, the museums and the important theaters. Don't forget to go sightseeing the well known lido of Mondello and the town of Monreale, with the most beautiful and important Cathedral in the world too.

In the same time you can also get to the well known touristic medieval town of Cefalù, with its marvelous beach and the Arab-Norman Cathedral, or to the enchanting Castle of Caccamo and, always looking at the sea,(without never losing the view of the sea) adding a few minutes, to the spectacular National Natural Madonie Park (mt.2000 on the sea), that are the highest mountain chain in Sicily after Etna and the paradise of rare protected animal and vegetables species.

"An ideal location for exploring the Palermo area."

We enjoyed our week long stay at this new custom built 2 buildings/5 lets site with dramatic views across Palermo bay with brilliant sunsets from the landscaped garden. Our studio was spacious, well finished and furnished, with a small gas hob. The pool area was ideal for sunbathing and relaxing. The owners were at the site most days and very friendly and helpful. A car is essential with ample parking space but do find the location on Google Earth to help identify the turning off the coastal road which needs a more obvious sign. We enjoyed the local fishing port of Porticello and used its supermarket. A day in Palermo is a must and well set up for the tourist. Other nearby essential visits are Monreale, Cefalu and the mountainous interior.

Dear friends, thank you for your nice words. I'm very glad you had a good time in my suite and in Sicily too. I remember you with all my love and I hope to see you soon. We have a more obvious sign to find the Villa now (a yellow letter box).
