The Ibiza region

Ibiza is a small island in a group of five, called the Balearic Islands, in the Mediterranean Sea about 90 kilometers from the mainland of Spain and just over 2 hours flight from London. However, despite its size, Ibiza has attained a global reputation as one of the world's most popular tourist destinations.
So what makes Ibiza so special?
It would be hard not to start with the obvious - this has to be one of the most beautiful islands on the planet. With over eighty beaches within half an hour's drive and almost guaranteed sunshine every morning when you open your shutters.
For this reason the locals are friendly and have a smile on their face most of the time. This is probably historical, since they have been ruled by every local trading civilization from the Phoenicians and Carthaginians to the Moors, via the Greek and Roman dynasties. This is a very welcoming and accepting island.
The weather is glorious most of the year (we were sitting on the beach on Christmas Day soaking up the sun) and the variety of things to do on this small but perfect island is overwhelming.
Ibiza is the perfect year round location, fantastic weather, beautiful beaches, wonderful restaurants and food markets, stunning walks, every possible form of entertainment and kind, generous, warm welcoming people. In short - this is HEAVEN. (and I haven't even talked about the Clubs! and that is because we didn't choose Ibiza for that reason!)
The Santa Eulalia del Rio area
Santa Eulalia is the third biggest town in ibiza (after ibiza town) and offers a wide variety of beautiful beaches, charming villages and several unusual markets that attract thousands of tourists every season. But you may want to dip into its history, culture and traditions, visiting places of special interest such as Puig de Missa (church hill), or simply meandering around the beautiful countryside of this area. the marina and the promenade (Paseo Maritimo) represents the modern side of this area designed for family tourism. The beaches on the east coast are particularly children friendly with gentle slopping sand into the clear blue sea, wide beaches with someone on watch and plenty of beach bars and restaurants, sun loungers and parasols. We have a full list of all our favourite places on the island in the living room for you to read through to help you make your mind up and Amanda will be available to guide you through your choices on arrival.
Golf fans will find that Santa Eulalia boasts the islands only golf course as well as excellent riding stables, nautical activities, diving and much much more.
The high quality of its restaurants and hotels, spas and shops and the impeccable cleanliness of its beaches and the excellent hospitality of the local people will mean you will always want to come back again to Santa Eulalia.
It is a thriving all year round town and so is also perfect for that relaxing break out of season. The surrounding countryside and wonderful beaches are tranquil and relaxing but with still a good selection of bars, restaurants, markets and shops open.
In short it is a little piece of paradise which is why we moved here, and although it is in the quieter side of the island you are only a 10 minute ride away to the bustling streets of ibiza town and the well known clubs and there is something for everyone here in Santa Eulalia.
