Villa | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
The villa is situated off a very quiet road with countryside views between the Villa and the sea. The Pollino National Park and St. Domineca Talao complete the vista, all are beautiful, some really stunning. The nearest neighbour is some 300+ yards away, so if it's peace and quiet you are after, then this could be for you.
At night and with very little light pollution, the sky is full of stars and from the sun terrace on the first floor, it's even better – imagine after dinner – sun loungers, a glass or two of local wine or a Peroni 'red label', or maybe a soft drink - looking out towards the sea or the twinkling lights of the villages of Cedro and Marcellina areas or to the heavens above, the temperature somewhere around 21/ 28°c depending on the time of year and always a cooling wisp of air off the mountains.
An ideal location for escaping to the countryside and a good base for outdoor pursuits such as Pony trekking, exploring the nearby Pollino National Park and White Water Rafting as well as plenty of beaches and water activities to choose from.
A swimming pool has been added this spring and will be in a fully serviceable condition, it is 33 x 16 ft (10x5mtr) heating is not necessary - temps between 26 & 29c.
A 2/3 seat Perception castal waters sit-on Kayak is available for guest use and is kept at a Caffe/Restaurant which is sighted at a beach side location in Scalea, it comes complete with 2 seats, lightweight paddles and two buoancy jackets, should you wish to take advantage of this please let me know.

About this location
The Calabria region
Places to see, well there are too many to list, but here are just a few:
The Pollino National Park area with its forests, the waterfalls, protected fauna, geological monuments, unique and propitious climate, historical and cultural evidences that go back to Ancient Greece can be accessed via Orsomarso and from various points on the road (SP3) to Mormanno.
Maratea – is a definite must, consisting of several villages dotted around the mountains and a marina and the Statua del Redentore (Christ Statue).
Numerous Norman Castles along the coast towards Reggio Calabria.
The climate is reckoned to be the best in the Med, hot in July/August but never scorching, from April and either side of July / August ideal.
Santa Domenica Talao
You can find all of the following activities within a 6 mile radius; addresses & tel. nos. are included in the information folder at the villa:
White water rafting
Hiking trails in the national park and of course there is the beach with many activities during the summer period, ranging from pedalo hire to night time discos – during this period there are many weekend events including Jet Ski shows, MotorX and Quad bike competitions – all on the beaches and the never to be missed the Scalea Beauty Contest. Many of the villages along the coast including Scalea will have local festivals with firework displays.
St.Domenica Taloa - Just 2 miles up the road and very visible to the North West of the villa. Very quaint with a church which is built on a church, nice bars and a couple of restaurants worth trying.
Scalea and the Old Town – Nearest large town with many restaurants and bars, the old town is well worth the climb.
Cirella, Diamantea, Verbicaro, Grisolea, Orsomosa, San Nicole Archella and Priai a Mare are all local towns that have much to offer Restaurants, Historic Sites and and charm, Priai a Mare is a large town and therefore suitable for shop-a-holics
