The Ibiza region

Sant Joan de Labritja area
San Juan is a small town on the northeast side of Ibiza. The town is also known as 'San Juan Bautista', and 'Sant Joan de Labritja', and is about 8 km from Cala de Sant Vincent. The village sits at the head of a valley, surrounded by mountains that offer spectacular panoramic views of Ibiza. Many of the nearby calas and beaches are small and isolated, and considered to be among the most beautiful of Ibiza. Beccause of the seclusion, there are no large hotels in the area, but the countryside is dotted with numerous 'agrotourism' hotels, often small, independent and family run hotels that offer excellent facilities in stunning surroundings run to very high standards.
Nearby bays and beaches include Xarraca, Cala Xucla and Port de Portinatx, all easily accessible by car. More remote places include Caló des Pou, Caló d'en Serra and the small Port de ses Caletes.
How to get there
From Ibiza town take the C-733 past San Lorenzo and on to San Juan (20km). From Santa Eulalia take the PM-810 back towards Ibiza Town until it joins the C-733 and then head east. From San Vincente take the PM-811 to San Joan. This is a very windy mountain road, and is often slow.
