These ladies were an absolute pleasure. Always ready for another adventure,
they explored our area, and drove far afield to see the sights many
visitors miss...we were very impressed with their great attitude and
sense of wonder with Tuscany. We would welcome them back any time.

"Wonderful B & B"
I recently stayed at Il Rifugio and would like to thank the owners Bill and John for their wonderful hospitality. The B & B is just perfect . It is situated in the middle of a very quaint typically Tuscan village with beautiful scenic views. The house is great, the bedroom with its lovely comfortable bed and fluffy white bed linen is very luxurious, the breakfast is devine and the gardens stunning. All in all it is the best B & B I have ever stayed in and would highly recommend to any future travellers.

"Glorious garden, stunning home, great bed, clean, perfect hospitality"
This is my second off-season stay. Have stayed both April and November. A perfect location for hopping off to Florence or hiking the hillsides near Lucca. Located in the central area of a charming historical Tuscan village from which you can walk to everything -- the best and most economical dining in the area, the flakiest and freshest cornettos/croissants - the most peaceful views. The hosts have a wealth of local information - history, directions, costs - and if you love colorful and vibrant gardens, this is the place to be. My family and I will come back...and back...and back.

"The quintessential Italian experience"
I stayed here by myself in May of 2009 and couldn't wait to bring my husband and return to this magical Italian village and this beautiful little Italian Villa. The owners Bill and John have the most beautiful garden and have made every detail in the rooms perfect. I loved the Italian antiques throughout and I am still dreaming of the view from our window of the village and the church. We traveled all over the country and Bill makes the best cup of cappuccino! They took care of us like family and we can't wait to return! We recommend this for a romantic getaway!
