You will find the closest beach (Spiaggia Marina della Lobra) at 8 km (roughly 5 miles). You will reach Villa Silvestre C from the main entrance of the building going down a short route that includes approximately ten stairway steps.

To stay at Villa Silvestre C you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises, free of charge in a parking space. Villa Silvestre C is one of the holiday homes available in a small complex. Please find a general description of the complex below, and please scroll further down for a description of Villa Silvestre C.

The villa is on the top of one of the steep hills by the sea which mold the wild and picturesque stretch of high coast which goes from Punta Campanella to Positano. You will be about 300 meters (about 984 feet) above sea level.

The villa is a large countryside house built with blocks of grey tuff. It is surrounded by the green of the olive groves, and it faces the vast blue of the sea. Red cranesbills and several succulent plants shine in the sun and dangle from several vases placed on the staircases, porticoes, and terraces.

The house is in the middle of a sloping terraced land where olive trees, grape vines, and fruit trees grow. You will reach the house by walking down a private road embellished by bushes of yellow cranesbills and roses.

From every angle of the garden you will have a pleasant and wide view of the sea.

The house is in fact in the middle of a large valley which gently leans facing towards the sea and which is covered in silvery crowns of olive trees and lush vegetation. Amidst the green you will notice the red roof tiles of farm houses and really small inhabited areas. The mild verdant slope is abruptly interrupted by the blue of the sea as the hill seems to plunge from high above into the waters down below, about one km (about 0.7 miles) away as if seen in a straight line from the villa.

From the sea, this stretch of high coast looks impervious, wild and quite picturesque since it is adorned by the presence of two islets, Isca and Vetara.

In this small paradise, where the air and perfume of the sun-drenched countryside merge with the fresh and salt-scented air which emanates from the sea, you will find a mild and salubrious climate all year round.

While playing or resting outdoors in the sun or in the shade, you will have an unlimited view of the sea and the Gulf of Salerno.

The house has old origins, and in the middle of a large room on the ground floor you will be able to see, carefully preserved, an old oil mill for olives with grinding wheels of stone and also old objects of everyday countryside life. The villa has been restored and offer 2 apartments Villa Silvestre A and C and a cottage: Villa Silvestre D.

The Campania region

If you think you have no idea of where Campania is, think again. This fascinating land, rich in gulfs, islands and legendary places, is home to the charming landscapes of the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, the Cilento National Park, Capri and Ischia.

The Campania region is situated in the South of Italy and bounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea (that’s the name of that stretch of Mediterranean). The region is divided into five provinces, whose capitals are Salerno, Caserta, Avellino, Benevento and Naples (Napoli). Naples is also the capital city of the region itself. With roughly 6 million of residents, half of which lives around the city of Naples, Campania has more people than Finland, packed in an area which is 200 times smaller.

If you are fond of archeology, architecture, or simply want to see history come back to life, Campania is a must. The archeological heritage is huge: the temples left by the Greeks in Paestum, the buried towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the remains of Velia, the masterpieces kept in the museums, the churches… and, of course!, the Royal Palace of Caserta, built to be the most sumptuous palace of Europe, with its 1200 rooms.

If the majesty you prefer is the majesty of nature, Campania will not disappoint you. The sandy beaches and the crystal-clear waters of the Cilento National Park, the amazing scenery of the Amalfi Coast, the islands of the Gulf of Naples are just a sampler of what lies ahead of you. From the underground depths of the caves of Pertosa to the heights of Mount Vesuvius, there is something for everyone. By the way, being Mount Vesuvius an active volcano, we respectfully suggest you visit sooner rather than later.

An outline of Campania would not be complete without a mention of its culinary tradition. Many of the world-known Italian dishes have their roots in Campania: pizza, spaghetti, mozzarella, limoncello, cannelloni… Italians know Campania well for being one of the regions that offer the best food, and definitely the region where you can taste the best coffee. Espresso, cappuccino and now interesting variations on the theme such as hazelnut coffee make the day of the residents of Campania, and will make yours as well.

Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi

Massa Lubrense is popularly known as the legendary Land of Sirens (from which it derives the toponym of “Sirenusion”), who lived along the coast and with their haunting and beautiful voices lured sailors onto the rocks. According to the legend, Ulysses passed for Ieranto Bay, and there he built the temple of the goddess Athena. Ieranto Bay or Baia di Ieranto, in Massa Lubrense, is one of the rare Italian place inhabited from the very ancient times, and the only intact creek of the Amalfi Coast.

Beyond the legend, the presumed aborigines of the area were two: Ausons and Osci, of which, a while ago, it was found an inscription nearby the eastern shore of Punta Campanella.

Its name derives from the Longobard word "mansa", which defined a territorial unit, with the adjective "lubrense" related to the Church of Madonna della Lobra, so named because it was built upon a pre-existing pagan temple (delubrum, in Latin).

Massa Lubrense is the climatic centre of the Sorrento Peninsula. It has a triangular form and borders at north-east with Sorrento, Gulf of Salerno on the left and Gulf of Naples on the right. The gulfs are separated by the peak of Punta Campanella (historically called “Athenaeum promontory”) that faces the island of Capri. This gorgeous strip offers fantastic occasions for excursions both overland and underwater.

In 1990, 11 pedestrian routes were found, miles away from noise, chaos, urban agglomerates, through lemon and olive trees. The classical walk is a triangle with its points in Termini, Monte San Costanzo and Punta Campanella. Depending on the weather, the temperature and other factors you can do the walk in one direction or the other; whichever way it is a just spectacular!
