The Island of Gozo region
Gozo forms part of the Maltese Archipelago and right in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. Gozo's small size is deceptive and its rich history and unique landscape catches the inexperienced traveller by surprise. Inhabited since mythical times, Gozo's retains an aura of unblemished beauty, still largely intact and accessible to all. The Islands history and past cultures are evident from its temples (thought to be the oldest standing structures in the world) and forts dotted around the countryside and along its shoreline. An old walled city dominates the centre of the island, high above its surrounding villages.
Terraced fields, bordered by miles of old rubble walls, slope down a myriad of hills and valleys, making the countryside an irresistible lure for ramblers, especially during the winter months when the island attains a green golden hue all round. Meanwhile the sea around its shores is crystal clear and the hidden rocky coves invite the snorkellers with their safe bathing almost throughout the year.
Gozo – covers an area of 67 km or 26 square miles, it is 9 miles long by 4 ½ miles wide and known as the sleepy island full of grace and charm.
Gozo's population is about 31,000 (approx). Despite its compact size, Gozo has a lot to offer. Historical places can be found in an abundance, as a visit to the Ggantija temples is a must! It is believed that these temples are older than the Pyramids of Egypt in actual fact. They date back to 3.500 years B.C !
Gozo – Other places of interest include the museum of Archaeology in Victoria, which is full of archaeological remains and pre-historic artefacts. The Citadel (Victoria 'Capital City'), the folklore museum in Gharb, Xerri's Grotto, Ninu's Cave and Calypso's Cave, which can be found in Xaghra. 'Ta Pinu' Sanctuary, where, at the turn of the century a local peasant woman had apparitions from Our Lady, is a very special and Holy Place.
Xewkija Dome dedicated to St. John the Baptist is the largest dome on Gozo, 'Ta Cenc' cliffs and Dolmens, the Azure Window, the Inland Sea and the Fungus Rock all in Dwejra, Ramla Bay one of the Maltese islands largest beaches with its unique orange coloured sand and the old part of Victoria are places to note and visit, whilst on the island of Gozo. If you're looking for a destination that offers more than just a suntan, Gozo will definitely deliver beyond your expectations!
Sannat is situated on high grounds in the area of Ta Cenc famous for its breathtaking cliffs over looking the Mediterranean sea. This area is perfect for walks and mountain bikes. The closest beaches are Mgarr Ix-Xini beach and Xlendi beach (both less than 1.5km from property). Places of interest in the village are Ta' Cenc Cliffs, The Watch Tower of Mgarr ix-Xini, the Lace House, The Old School and Palazzo Palina. An excellent restaurant Il-Girna is just 55 metres from property. A mini market is found 300 metres away from property.
Should you fancy a day at the beach Ramla Bay with its unique honey-red sand is the largest and most popular beach on the island and can be reached by car in 10 minutes.
The feast in the village of Sannat is celebrated on the third Sunday of the month of July and is dedicated to the beloved patron Saint Margaret, at this time of year you will see the village decorated and see spectacular firework displays, where village succumbs to a wonderful vibrancy.

"Heaven is a place on Gozo."
I stayed at the farmhouse at the end of June with my mother and my sister and her partner. The booking process was very simple and efficient and nothing was too much effort for Baron. On the day of arrival Grace was very helpful in getting us into the accommodation and showing us round and checking we were happy with everything. The farmhouse itself is stunning and it felt such a treat staying there. It is entered through a courtyard which it shares with 2 other farmhouses but once inside its very private. The pool area was to die for with very comfortable sunloungers and a lovely dining table with umbrella and a brick built BBQ. The hot tub felt very luxurious and a real treat - so much so that my sister's partner preferred it to the pool! The farmhouse was surprisingly cool despite the hot weather but we didn't need to worry as every room had air conditioning as well. The bedrooms were large and beds comfortable and had little hidden treasures like dressing gown and extra pillows. The kitchen was very well equipped but the knives did need a good sharpen! The lounge was a lovely place to spend some time either watching TV or using the Wifi. The farmhouse was in a great location as a well equipped corner store was within walking distance and a nice restaurant no more than 5 minutes walk away. I would highly recommend not only this farmhouse as a little slice of heaven but also Baron for being so professional and great to deal with. Keep on wishing we were still there!

"Spacious, clean, well maintained and equipped farmhouse with great pool and jacuzzi."
A truly lovely spacious 3-bedroom property with private pool, jacuzzi and shared access (with two adjacent properties only) to a compact gym and sauna. One of the bedrooms was on the ground floor and the jacuzzi upstairs - I would have preferred the other way around so we all slept on the same level. Menzja 2 was immaculately clean on arrival and we had a change of linen, towels and excellent maid service 3 times during our stay. The pool had been cleaned on the morning of our arrival and was cleaned again twice during our stay. Good shallow end for our youngest and plenty of deeper space for our older two, more competent swimmers. The property had a well equipped kitchen. The free Wifi was great and no breaks in service. The cable tv was slightly annoying in that many channels were not activated although you could pay extra to activate them. There were two restaurants catering for all appetites within 5 mins walk of the property and others a short car journey away. There was also a local grocery store within walking distance and the larger Arcadia supermarket (stocking some Waitrose products) a short drive away in Victoria and a Lidl near to that plus plenty of other independent supermarkets dotted around. A car is essential for nipping around Gozo and also popping back to and exploring Malta and all driving is as in the UK on the left hand side. Gozo is much more sedate than neighbouring Malta, which was exactly what we wanted and we had a truly fabulous holiday bordering on relaxing which is not always easy with 3 children. Would go back in a flash.

"A fantastic villa in a peaceful location"
We stayed here for 12 nights in July 2013. Gorgeous villa with its own pool. AC in lounge, kitchen and bedrooms which was necessary. Hot tub was a surprise bonus for us; we used it almost every night while looking up to a big starry sky. We hired a car for the duration of our stay as Sannat is a quiet village. There's lots to see and do on Gozo so a car is a real necessity. An easy island to drive around (driving is on the same side as in the UK). We'd definitely book this villa again.

"Peaceful, relaxing and very"
The Djar Ta Menzja is a fantastic place to stay if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and peaceful holiday. The Baron Group staff were friendly and helpful throughout every part of the process from booking, checking in and (with a heavy heart) leaving. Gozo is a beautiful island to visit and the luxurious villa enhanced our experience. The facilities are excellent, the rooms are spacious and the air conditioning was a god-send. The private swimming pool is kept immaculately clean although it is quite deep (over 7ft) at the deep end so as with all pools, children should be supervised at all times. The garden is beautifully landscaped, very private and sheltered so this is usually some shade if you want to keep out of the sun. Overall this was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be returning next year, this time for longer.

"Fantastic apartment and service"
Very comfortable and clean apartment with great service from the hosts. Not a lot going on in Gozo - especially in March when we went, but we weren't looking for a busy holiday. Was a great place to chill out in the sun with beautiful countryside to run and walk in. Locals were really friendly and we found lovely food in shops and restaurants. Great snorkelling too. We rented a car and it was really easy to travel both to and from the airport via the ferry and around the island. Would definitely recommend this apartment and company to friends and hope to visit again.
