Willowell is a modern house set against the scenic backdrop of the Dublin mountains, on its own land with driveway and automatic gates and overlooking Dublin City.

The area is perfect for anyone interested in combining a city and country holiday ..Within easy striking distance of the city ,it is surrounded by nature with forest walks and wildlife all around with protected wild deer often coming around the house in the quiet of the evening. The setting is totally relaxing with numerous pastimes including golf courses in the surrounding area.,.It is suitable for families or groups of up to six people , Children delight in observing the wild life, especially the rabbits and wild deer. It would be necessary to have your own transport at this property as public transport is not too close by

Less than a mile away lies the hugh Marley park which has numerous amenities including golf course,craft shops, children's playgrounds, football pitches, tennis,cricket ,model railway, dog area etc etc.. A short distance further up the road from the house there is a public forest park ,with walkways which will bring you al the way up to the top of the Three Rock Mountain.

Also within 2 miles is the largest shopping mall in Ireland with multi screen cinema and many many other facilities. The local shop, two pubs and restaurant are within one mile of the house and a large supermarket and take away and delivery restaurants are about 1 mile away ... All of Dublin city is at your feet.

There are three large double en suite bedrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs

There is a fully equiped kitchen and an adjoining dining room with table and chairs for six people

Across the hallway there is a sitting room with modern furniture ,fireplace and flat screen televison

There are also two conservatories attacthed to the house, both of which have spectacular views over the city and beyond as far as Northern Ireland

Outside there is a decked area with a barbecue and a large lawn area suitable for play

There is a secure car parking area adjacent to the house

There are now three televisions in different rooms of the house

There is a Wi Fi device at the property which is 'tooped up' . Because of the location of the house in the hills the Wi-Fi coverage

can sometimes be intermittent

The house is on its own grounds surrounded by greenery within a half mile of the city suburbs... There are sheep and horses grazing in the adjacent field. There is wild life all about with a conservation theme and therefore any kind of shooting or hunting cannot be allowed

Because of the sheep and horses adjacent to the property ,only quiet under control pets can be allowed on request.

Normally the house will be ready at 4 pm and will need to be vacated by 11am, (these times may be flexible during quiet periods)

To secure the booking, a deposit of 20% is required

On request a Pay Pal invoice can be issued which can be paid by credit card. (or if preferred a bank transfer can be arranged)

A discount may be given if more than one week is booked

The East Ireland region

Dublin city has something for everyone-a vibrant modern city, with great shopping and great nightlife, you can also take one of the city tours or just ramble around and take in the rich history of the city stopping at one of the numerous city pubs maybe for a pint of Guinness.

Along the coast on either side of the city are beaches and resorts. The famous seaside resort of Bray with it its long promenade and the harbour town of Dun laoghaire are both within about 20 minutes drive from the property


Willowell lies between Rathfarnham and the village of Sandyford where it is possible to hop on the Luas tram directly into the centre of the city.

Within 2 miles of the house is the largest shopping mall in Ireland ,golf courses ,horse riding, children's playgrounds, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and always something to do including some concerts in the local Marley Park.

On a summers evening why not stay ay home and have a meal out on the deck surrounded by greenery and wildlife or sit and play in the large garden or go for a picnic or a stroll in the surrounding hills

"The perfect holiday home."

This holiday home was perfect for the three nights we stayed. It was ideally situated for visiting Dublin and the Wicklow area to the south. The very friendly landlord had thought of and provided everything - nothing was missing. The night-time views over Dublin were superb and the deer roaming wild in the garden were an added pleasure. There were supermarkets and an excellent fish and chip shop within a five minute drive and, for shopaholics, the Dundrum Shopping Centre is only ten minutes away as is Johnny Foxes, surely one of the best dining pubs in Ireland. We can thoroughly recommend Willowfield.

"Out of town hillside delight"

The house was a perfect size for myself and family along with the parents. (6)
The location was close to where we needed to be but would suit those looking for a rural but close to Dublin experience. Beds comfortable and sunroom a lovely way to wind down the day with views of Dublin. At night the whole vista of dublin city lights up. Suitable for family types and country lovers.

"Best of both worlds"

Willowell catered for all our needs.We were a family of four with a teenage daughter and son who have travelled all over Ireland and to find a house with three double en-suite bedrooms is unusual and most welcome with no fighting over who gets the big room.The house was well stocked with all you would need to start your holiday from tea,coffee,milk and bread to all the cleaning products that we sometimes find lacking elsewhere.When we arrived the satellite TV wasn't working and while my son was sorting this out Brian went and borrowed a TV to make sure we weren't without.Normal service was resumed with plenty channels to chose from and a supply of DVDs if you fancy a night in.The house lies next to the motorway and allows easy access to the rest of the country but was surrounded by fields abundant with local wildlife and was very quiet and peaceful.There are wonderful views from the conservatory and decking and even better if you head up the hill from the house to the forest park which is ideal for walking and cycling.Lamb Doyle's pub is within walking distance but be careful as there is no pavement fro part of the way.Well worth ther trip for a really warm welcome from Ken the barman.Supermarkets are a ten minute drive as is Ballinteer House pub for a good meal.Irleand's biggest indoor shopping centre is ten minutes away at Dundrum where there are plenty of shops and a cinema.Dublin city centre is easily reached by the local tram service(The LUAS) which you can catch at the park and ride at Balally next to Dundrum centre(follow the blue park and ride signs). Willowell offers and excellent rural setting with easy access to Dublin and beyond and would recommend to families or groups of friends for a great break in Ireland.
