The Old Dairy features a functional kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher, washer/drier, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, oven and hob, cooking utensils and cutlery, glass and tableware. A dining table is located close to the kitchen. In the lounge areas we have soft comfortable sofas (This apartment has a sofa bed for two extra guests to sleep on), a large flat screen TV with free-view channels, and a Blu-ray DVD player, and free WI-FI throughout the cottage, and a music docking station. Our bathroom features clean modern design with tiled walls and floors, hand basin, shower and toilet. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a super king size bed and the other with two single beds, which can be easily joined to form a super King size double. We have used luxury mattresses on our beds which are dressed with Egyptian cotton linen, encasing feather pillows and duvets. In the bedroom area we have ample storage in the form of hanging space and drawers. The cottage has a hair dryer, iron and ironing board and access to a communal laundry machine facility where you can find a vacuum and clothes dryer.

The Old Dairy is located in the very oldest part of the original barn, built in the 1700s. It has two bedrooms (a double and a twin), a traditional kitchen with an old-fashioned farm house style sink to reflect the dairy heritage and separate living area with a sofa bed. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and bathroom with a shower. It operated as a dairy until the 1950s - the cows entered through the same front door you will use to get inside the property and after being milked would be ushered out through the door in the living room.

From this apartment there are views to the airfield and this has been reflected by some aviation themed items, such as a polished propeller on the wall, interesting photographs taken from the air and a coffee table featuring an aeroplane engine. This cottage really reflects the farm's transition from a traditional 1950s arable and pastoral farm to a modern agricultural endeavour - in the 1960s the Jefferies used aerial crop spraying techniques for a time, combining their interest in flying with their agricultural duties. If you have any flying enthusiasts in your party, this is definitely the apartment for you.

The Cambridgeshire region

Explore the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside and use one of our new country cottages as your base for your self-catering holiday this year. Fullers Hill is surrounded by miles of foot paths and bridle ways. To the north are the woods of Waresley and Gransdens with many paths. Waresley wood is especially nice. These woods managed by the wild life trust are a carpet of blue in the spring time when the bluebells appear. To the East is Hayley wood near Longstowe, which has SSSI status. This wood and its environs are home to a herd of Fallow deer which can often be seen grazing the fields. To the west is Gamlingay wood comprising 114 acres managed by Wildlife trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. This wood has been in existence for over 1000 years and has SSSI status since 1955. All of these woodlands are easily accessible from the cottages via many foot paths.

In the spring time on the farm we can watch the “march hares” boxing and chasing around, as the crops grow these can be seen on the runways, as many as 20 have been seen at once. Buzzards can be seen circling with the distinctive screeching calls. The smaller birds of prey are also common here

Little Gransden is adjacent to the Fullers Hill Cottages, far from a busy airfield this provides the perfect base from which to plan and undertake flying tours of England and maybe the odd trip to the Continent. There are local airshows, museums (Duxford 12 miles and Old Warden's Shuttleworth collection 8 miles) and places to visit, including the coast.

The airfield is home to many historic aircraft types including Boeing Stearman, Waco, Stampe, Tiger Moth, Mono Coupe and the only two Spartan Executives outside of the USA.

Microlight Flying Training.

Based here at Little Gransden Airfield, flying instructor Greg Burns can undertake courses in 3 axis ultralight aircraft training. The model used is an Icarus C42. Learn to fly in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and chat to fellow pilots over a cup of tea and piece of cake on the sunny deck of the clubhouse. Two Two Fly 07791 025943

"A lovely base for a family holiday"

A lovely countryside location within easy driving distance of a good number of places to keep children of all ages entertained. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard… More
