About the home

Both Worlds is a beach complex completely on its own on the eastern side of Gibraltar. The village of Catalan Bay is within a five minute walk with a small grocery shop, bars, restaurants and a wonderful beach. There is a 4star hotel there with two superb restaurants plus bars and swimming pool. There is a good bus service leaving the resort every half hour until around 9.00 pm. Taxis are plentiful in the main part of Gibraltar which is only a 15 minute ride away. A Gibraltar representative is joining Jackie's team from May 2012 to visit clients, organise trips if required and to be on hand for any problems.

The owners of this apartment have refurbished with taste and style incorporating necessities such as overhead fans, air-conditioning, microwave and washing machine. It is on the ground floor of the Both Worlds complex with just a few steps down to the beach. There is a twin-bedded room and a double sofa bed in the sitting room with a separate dining area. All rooms are overlooking the sea. There is now free WiFi. A cot is also available along with bedding. Milk and bottled water will be in the apartment on arrival for that very welcome cup of tea!

Conditions

The price of £400 per week is for two people however during the months of July, August and September there will be a surcharge of £50 per week for any additional persons up to a maximum of 4. There are special winter rates for monthly rents - please contact the owner for details.
There is a 10% non-refundable deposit to secure the booking and the balance payable six weeks in advance of the holiday plus a £50 refundable bond in case of breakages, lost keys etc. This is refunded on receipt of the keys.

The Rock of Gibraltar region

Gibraltar is a British Colony attached to the foot of Spain within easy reach of Africa (Morocco) by ferry - within one hour. The currently is Sterling, the language is both English and Spanish with Gibraltarian a quaint mix between the two. The Border between Gibraltar and Spain is open 24 hours per day travelling through either on foot or by car. Gibraltar is a mile wide and three miles long. It is famous for the rock apes, seige tunnels and duty-free shopping. There is plenty of night life - casinos, funky nightclubs and superb restaurants.

The Sandy Bay area

Sandy Bay is on the Eastern side of the Rock. It is the only holiday complex with a beach on its doorstep. A short walk away is the beach and holiday village of Catalan Bay which has restaurants and bars and is popular with all Gibraltarians.

Local activities include diving, surfing, swimming, walking, sailing, fishing, golf and water ski-ing. There are a number of stairs to the apartment which is why it is not suitable for the elderly or infirm however the few steps down to the beach make it a wonderful holiday for children.

Gibraltar has flights with British Airways, Monach and Easyjet - all flying direct into Gibraltar airport.

However if you wish to hire a car most regional airports in the UK fly into Malaga which is approx one and a half hours on the toll road going down to Gibraltar.

Car hire is also cheaper in Malaga than Gibraltar.

“Fantastic!” Just spent a very pleasant short stay at this apartment with my brother. It was clean,comfy,well equipped and the location is stunning. There is a regular,efficient and free bus service connecting you to the rest of Gibraltar and great food just a short walk away in Catalan Bay. Very reasonable rates and good communication with the manager ensured a wonderful holiday. Would definitely return.

“Ideal Place to Chill Out and Relax” Wonderfully located apartment with ever changing views of the sea. From watching the sun rise to lounging on the terrace with a glass as it sets at night - superb. The apartement is very comfortably furnished with all you could need for a happy self catering holiday. The local bus service is close at hand and is very economical. You can even get the bus to the local Morrisons store is you need a large shop, or there is a small shop closer to hand at Catallan Bay, you can get there by steps leading down by the side of the Caletta Hotel. An added bonus of Gibraltar is that you can use sterling, no need to change currency. This has to be a good thing in the current economic climate. Spain is easily accessible also, the local bus station is located just a few minutes walk on the other side of the border crossing. If you fancy a night out in the town, the local taxis are very reasonable. We have spent many happy evenings there and if you are feeling like a walk, the walk back to the apartment is very comfortable. Response: I completely agree this apartment is ideally situated.
