The Isle of Wight region

Less than 5 miles from Hampshire, the Isle of Wight shimmers in the English Channel. Notorious for its unspoilt beauty, leading sailing port of Cowes and many outdoor activities, the Isle of Wight holiday is perfect for getting away from it all - at any time of year. Whether you enjoy sunny days on the beach, portside pursuits or family days out, Blue Chip Holidays' Isle of Wight holiday cottages will position you right where you need to be. The Isle of Wight was home to Queen Victoria and Lord Tennyson. Cowes holds the oldest regatta in the world, Cowes Week. Jimi Hendrix gave his last major performance on the Isle of Wight.

Sandown

If you're looking for that element of days gone by in an Isle of Wight holiday then it's got to be Sandown. Shanklin's sister town has held on to all those traditional seaside features that we secretly want from a beach holiday in the UK, so guests of our Sandown holiday cottages enjoy all the fun of the fair, amusements and gently sloping beaches with plenty of room. Sandown Bay is surrounded by miles of sand, and its beaches are some of the island's safest for bathing, so search properties nearby if you've got younger children who love a splash about in shallow waters. The Isle of Wight Zoo is in Sandown. Lewis Carroll spent long holidays in Sandown. Low tide reveals glimpses of a petrified forest in the northern area of Sandown Bay.
