The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is a beautiful island steeped in history, from Prehistoric to Roman times and onwards. Osborne House in East Cowes was the favourite home of Queen Victoria.
The beaches are stunning, and we often get lovely weather because we have a micro climate! There is so much to do and see ,for all ages. Children are well catered for on the Island, when they are not enjoying the sea and the beach. There are a variety of water sports available, and cycling and walking are enjoyed by many.
The Sandown / Yaverland area
The chalet is about a ten minute walk to the beach, with stunning views over Sandown Bay and towards Whitecliff and Culver Down. Sandown Zoo, featured on ITV's Tiger Island, is close to the chalet, as is Dinosaur Isle, a dinosaur museum. You can have a dinosaur walk on the beach nearby.
The town has numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs to suit all tastes. There are shops and supermarkets and banks close by.

We had a great time in this chalet there was 6 of us the little things like milk in the fridge when we got there. Also having the bath for the 2 children we had with us as they dont like a shower. Puting a £1.00 in meter was no problem and we had the little heater on the chalet got very warm. The tellevison was a small screen but ok, the walk to the beach was muddy and steep in places, The bed setee in the lounge was very easy to put up and confortable to sleep on will tell freinds about the chalet will go back again. we love the isle of wight been going for many years stayed in allsort of accomadation and this is one of the best. it is close to lots of places of intrest so dont have to travel far to get to them the weather was mixed but you can be one side of island and it is raining and on the other side the sun is out |

Our family (Mum, Dad & 3 year old) stayed at Chalet 79 in July 2012. The chalet has recently been renovated and was smart inside. The best bit was the location, you are a short stroll along a coastal path to the beach. There was so much to do on the Isle of Wight that we hardly went to the beach though but you could spend every day on the beach if you wanted to. The downside of this chalet was the damp smell coming from under the kitchen sink, I guess they must have had a leak at some point and I would advise the owners to think about putting that right. I wouldn't recommend the rental because of the smell but if that was fixed- I definitly would! |
