The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Var region
What is Provence? Officially, there is no French department or administative region with that name. Yet when you hear the word, you think of oleanders, olives, and lavender. You think of a slower of pace of life, a Sunday lunch under the shade of plane trees, a café crème at a sidewalk café, or a long walk through a forest of oak and chestnut trees. You may even think of a village clinging to the side of a mountain, a church tower with a wrought-iron campanile where the mistral finds little obstruction, or a narrow cobble-stoned street. And, finally, when you're marvelling at the rocky inlets of the Mediterranean sea, or relaxing on the beach of Pampelonne, near Saint-Tropez, you can also say: "I'm in Provence!"
Sanary sur Mer area
Sanary-Sur-Mer is a delightful, unspoiled fishing village situated on the South West Coast about 13km away from Toulon. Houses painted in soft pastel colours, cafes overlooking the colourful harbour and gorgeous boutiques tucked away in the cobbled side streets make this village an absolute gem. Daily markets sell fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meat and cheese and once a week the famous Sanary market with its array of fresh produce, clothes, linens and leather goods attracts people from far and wide. What makes this charming village so special is that it remains essentially French, still in the main undiscovered by tourists, who tend to flock to hotels and apartments in nearby Bandol. Around Sanary, the jagged coastline of La Cride, the beaches, pine woods and carefully nursed vines set up on the terraced hillsides are a delight for walkers and nature-lovers.

Further details indoors: The house is typical Provence-style with beamed ceilings. It has been furnished in true Provence-style as well which strikes a nice balance between comfort and elegance. There are plenty of toys, books, dvd's and videos for the kids (including a video in the children's bedroom).
Further details outdoors: The property has a lovely big lawn to play on (more than big enough for a kick-about) or to lay out your sunbeds and a swing and slide combo for the kids. It has a shady rear terrace with a beautiful view for 'al fresco' dining. The property includes a fenced-off vineyard and small orchard to the rear which is tended by a local 'Domaine' and provides a very pleasant aspect. Although the grapes are strictly off-limits, there are plenty of different fruit trees in the garden and orchard which produce delicious fruits and to which renters may help themselves.
