The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region
The Var is a French department in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in Provence, in south-east France. Toulon is the largest city and is known for its harbour (the main port of the French Navy), its seaside resorts, including Saint-Tropez and Bormes-Les-Mimosas; for some fine examples of Romanesque and medieval architecture, such as the Le Thoronet Abbey and Fréjus Cathedral; and for its wines, particularly the wines of Bandol and Cassis.
Some major points of interest in the region near Sanary:
• Le Thoronet Abbey, one of the best-preserved medieval Cistercian monasteries in France.
• The Baptistery of Fréjus Cathedral, the oldest Christian structure in Provence.
• The villages of Bormes-les-Mimosas, Le Castellet, Cassis, St Tropez
• The Iles d'Hyeres, including the underwater natural park around the Ile de Port-Cros.

Sanary sur Mer
Sanary-Sur-Mer is a delightful fishing village situated on the Cote d'Azur, 40km east of Marseille, close to the port of Toulon.
Sanary is a charming village which remains full of life all year round. It is essentially unspoiled and in the main undiscovered by foreign tourists. For walkers, cyclists, nature lovers, golfers or even those going to Toulon to watch the rugby, Sanary-Sur-Mer is a charming retreat.
Sanary features an array of cafés overlooking the colourful harbour, cobbled side streets and shady squares with interesting little restaurants and boutiques. There's a daily farmer's market selling fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat and fish and early morning sales of fish from small stands at the harbour's edge. Every Wednesday the large weekly market takes place by the harbour from where you can also take day trips on passenger boats or game fishing trips.
In summer season, the Mairie puts on free concerts by the harbour and the road is lined by local artisans selling their wares.
For up to date details on current festivals, exhibitions and concerts you'll find everything you need on http://www.mairie-sanary.fr/

A beautiful, romantic house in close proximity to coastal cliffs.
Very well equipped - very good mattresses, very good kitchen facilities, beautiful, well-kept garden and a beautiful pool. Here's something for everyone! And perfectly located between Sanary-sur-mer and Bandol. We come again :)!

"Summer in South France"
We (2 couples) had a fantastic and well organized 2 weeks vacation in a perfect summer house at Sanary sur mer. One of the best and most picturesque places at the Cote d'Azur even compared to much more famous locations. An ideal location and area for relaxing but also for a lot of sightseeing on the countryside, cities or up in the hills by car or boat. Good for restaurants and nice looking bays interrupting attractive cliff lines. This will hopefully not our last time in this area and this summer house.

"Excellent holiday house"
This was a perfect spring holiday for us and our children. In early May we were able to sit by the pool sunbathing and swim comfortably for hours every day. Great to have a heated pool. The house was perfect for a family of 5 and everything adults, teenagers and toddler could have wanted was there. Wifi and playstation were particularly appreciated. The excellent seating and lounging areas on the terrace were great. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the sheets and towels great quality. Little stony cove 100m down the road was a spectacular place to watch the sun set. I cannot fault this house for a family holiday.

"What a joy"
If you want the perfect house with plenty of light and space then this is the place for you. We went as a group of friends had had a superb time making full use of all the facilities and enjoying lunchtime BBQ's and the heated pool.
Being April the evenings were cool but that was not a problem and we experienced the delights of the wood burning stove.
Sanary is a perfect small French town with plenty of shops and a great weekly market. You don't need to drive as it is a very pleasant and interesting 25 minute walk which we never tired of. The route runs mainly along the coast..
Will certainly return to this house as it had everything that we needed for a very comfortable and pleasant stay in the south of France.

"A wonderful villa provided all for the dream family holiday."
Our first villa holiday to celebrate a year of significant birthdays and anniversaries in our family, we chose to visit the beautiful fishing commune of Sanary-sur-Mer in the Var area of southern France. As the group of 8 ranged in age from 13 to 80, and included my 21 year old daughter and boyfriend stopping over for a few days during their tour of Provence, we needed to fulfill various needs and requirements and provide adaptable accommodation close to Sanary but away from the hustle and bustle. The villa achieved this.
The bedrooms are a good size with plenty of draw and cupboard space, two being on the ground floor seviced by two down stairs loos, one having a large shower unit. My wife and I had the large upstairs bedroom with a shower room and toilet across the landing. The living room area is very spacious & comfortable with various forms of entertainment including board games, wifi access, computer games and dvd's (French TV channels only) and the dining area large enough for 8 to sit.
In saying this, we spent almost all of our time between the well equipped kitchen and the outside covered seating area (sits 8 for meals), by the pool on the loungers or the barbecue area, fitted with patio furniture (even this late into September).
I loved Sanary-sur-Mer; it is relaxed and welcoming. It is a wonderful place to visit and has a fantastic Wednesday morning market with manner of goods available. The tourist office is just on the quay and worth a visit. The walk from the villa at La Cride into Sanary took me about 30/40 minutes while the 'less' mobile used a good taxi service. There are various beaches in the area, Baie de Portissol (sand) & Baie de Cousse (pebble) both within walking distance. Others are close but a drive away.
If you haven't done before, drive up into the mountain range behind the coast towards the forts. It is no more than 8 miles from the villa but the views and walks are stunning, especially early evening for sunset.
Any criticism. No. I loved this break with the whole family as its always been a dream to bring the family tgether to just chill.
The villa and Sanary did not disappoint.

"Beautiful Villa with fantastic amenities. Great location!"
We spent a week here and had a fantastic time!
The villa is beautifully decorated, modern and comfortable. A great open plan central living area which spills onto the patio and landscaped gardens. A comfortable living room for relaxing with TV / Playstation / DVD / wi fi. The bedrooms & bathrooms were all new and spacious.
The gardens & swimming pool were amazing and where we spent most of the week! There is a BBQ area and the entire property is walled/ gated so very secure for families with children.
Sanary is a stunning Port and the owner provided all the local info we needed to explore.
