Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 5
Villa Felicita is set in peaceful tranquil gardens just five minutes drive from the nearest beach .A private pool for sole use that is perfect for either a chill out holiday or a beach holiday. This charming villa is surrounded by spruce, olive and fruit trees. It is ideal for families and totally secluded and private. It is also perfect for a romantic holiday. Al fresco dining is catered for whether it is beneath the covered verandah enjoying your breakfast and watching the sun rise between the trees or under the shade of the newly built gazebo. In the evening the twinkling lights under the gazebo come to life and another seatiing and dining area can be used. After a busy day sightseeing many of the local attractions just sip your wine or cold beer watching the sun set between the trees of the rear garden by the pool.
The rooftop terrace is wonderful for star gazing in the darkness of the night as the sky is so clear that it is a sight not to be missed.
We do not have air conditioning but their are ceiling fans in both bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Internet is available at no extra cost. A selection of books cds and dvds are available for your enjoyment on the home theatre system.
Torre San Sabina is a small fishing village just a short drive away and there a few bars and restaurants overlooking the beach and harbour serving fresh fresh of the day. Travel further up the coast and high above the flat plane is the town of Ostuna which is called the white town due to the number of properties that are mostly painted white. The narrow streets of the old town are full of quaint shops and bars and restaurants you will be spoilt for choice for places to dine. Climb to the top of the town and you will be rewarded with stunning views towards the coastline and beaches. Torre Canne is another small seaside town with sunbeds and showers on the beach. Follow the coast road up through Torre Canne and beside the beautiful beach are a few sea food restaurants actually on the beach and overlooking the sea. Alberabello is also worth visiting as it is an historic heritage location. The trulli houses with cone shaped rooves can be viewed but best to visit either early morning or late afternoon especially in August when it gets really busy and the height of the sun is at its highest. Try a visit to Monopoli which again is on the coast and you can walk around its tiny harbour and visit the amazing churches off the piazza,s. Sit and have lunch in one of the piazza cafes and just savour the atmosphere and charm of the region. If you try and speak a little Italian the locals will be delighted even if its only a few words.
Closer to the villa is Specciola with its bars and pizza restaurants one of which has a verandah overlooking the sea.
If you arrive by plane into Brindisi it is a short drive (25 minutes) from the villa and as you come in to land you will probably fly over the busy harbour where ferries sail to Croatia and Greece. This city is worth visiting either by day or night when in the evening it is bustling with activity.
Lecce is a city which is known as the Florence of the south with its amazing churches and historical buildings.
San Vito de Normanni has plenty of shops bars and cafes. This town is about 10 minutes drive from the villa. Also Carovigno which in the old part of the town has a castle. Torre S Gennaro is a nearby nature reserve which is also with a trip with plenty of parking near the beach and walkways. There are so many places to explore just Google Puglia and you will be able to decide where you will want to visit.
We do have a brochure at the villa with leaflets on the nearby attractions and resorts. Puglia is very scenic and not too touristy especially in San Vito and Carovigno. There is also a zoo close by if you wish to take your children.
Whatever you may want out of your holiday our villa is perfectly situated for your stay. The outside barbecue is great for cooking outdoors or you may wish to have a pizza party baking your own pizzas in our outside pizza oven. The dough can be purchased from the local supermarkets and the fresh vegetables taste so much better.
