The Palawan region

Palawan is well known to Filipinos as being the undeveloped, unspoiled Paradise of their Country. Port Barton is located a scenic boat trip south of the well known El Nido famous for its Resorts and Magnificent Cliff Faces which plunge into its Crystal Clear waters and North of Sabang and the Famous Underground River of the Philippines. Port Barton is well known as a Holiday Destination in Palawan and from here you have access to dozens of Islands of the West Coast of Palawan. Fishing, Diving, Sightseeing, Butterfly and Bird watching, nature walks and a variety of other local activities are available to visitors such as Cock Fighting. Foundation day celebrations from January 28 to 30 is a great time to visit the Port Barton Area. Best boating times are April to May
The San Vicente / Port Barton area
Activities to entertain guests are many and have previously been mentioned. They include, 2 Bicycles, a Motor Bike, Pool, Table Tennis, Island Hopping, Camping overnight on Islands, Fishing, Boating Swimming, Waterfall Hikes ( several falls nearby ) day trips to Underground River or overnight to El Nido, Karaoke at night ( but don't pack your disco clothes coz there's not a lot on at night other than Fiestas and Town Dance nights ( mainly Ballrom and Latin ) or you can safely walk the Beach or streets at night or in the afternoons you may do some bar hopping to see whats going on in the village while you enjoy the often stunning sunsets. We find getting out into the water on a boat is one of the most rewarding activities here, and the waters and islands are truly beautiful. Swimmings great to cool you off on hot days or try the shower we've attached to the coconut tree on the beach. Swimmings also great at the waterfalls…….definitely go there!

Guestbook for " Villa Marguerita "
" I am just writing to say thank you so much for the use of your villa, what an amazing place it is. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thought that Arnold and his family were lovely, they couldn't have been any kinder or more friendly. All your facilities really enabled John, Rich, Laura and Rachel, not to mention John and I, to have lots of fun and the tv wasn't turned on even once. Our trips out from there were quite adventures, especially the trip to El Nido with Wilson which I don't think we would like to repeat due to the rough sea!! Although it was all worth while when we saw the lagoons. Seeing turtles and dolphins, together with the tropical fish, not to mention the wild monkeys and snakes will be remembered for ever."
All in all it was just a fantastic holiday, seeing many different sights and experiencing a completely different culture to ours. The people were incredibly friendly and warm. Karen and John. England
We stayed here with my wife's family prior to the 2 of us moving on to the owners other house Gilligans Hideaway.
The house is fantastic, and the location ideal (it's right on the beach). There's a large garden, and a bar/bar area all to yourselves. This was ideal as we were a large group and we ate and drank together during the day and nights, and everything was there for us.
The caretaker family and other staff were great, and they cooked, bbq'd and looked after all our needs.
My favourite part of the house was the balcony that opens out of the large upstairs living area. Great for breakfast looking over the sea. There is plenty to do there and the owners have paid a lot of attention to detail to make it a great place to stay, and they were also very good to deal with and 100% trustworthy.
Port Barton is a very nice. An unspoilt town, friendly people, and the surrounding habitat is amazing, great beaches, islands, seas, jungles and waterfalls. I'd highly recommend it, and look forward to staying at Villa M again.

I had a terrific vacation at Villa Marguerita! After a lovely drive to Port Barton, I was awestruck by the beauty of Villa Marguerita. The accommodations were not plush, but very comfortable, offering both privacy and large social areas for larger parties. The staff was exceptionally thoughtful, preparing excellent food and anticipating our every need. The beach and bay are extraordinary, excellent for swimming, hiking, and boating. The town of Port Barton is quaint, and the residence are very friendly. The perfect place for a tropical vacation.

" When we arrived at Port Barton there was cold beer waiting and the kids jumped straight into the water. Your staff made us so welcome and we felt like we were old friends. Our first meal was already prepared and we loved the fresh crabs, prawns and fish. Staying in Port Barton was like going back in time to a simpler world. We'll be back with some friends next time "

" We hope you'll love it here as much as we do "
