Home description
The apartment is split over two floors, and includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, large balcony and an outdoor pool. The apartment is furnished to an extremely high standard, as the owners had originally planned that it should be for their sole use. However, due to work commitments, and lack of time to use the apartment, they have decided to rent it.
The two spacious bedrooms accommodate 4/5 people with two double beds and one pullout single bed. Both bedrooms have wardrobes, bedside cabinets and reading lights.
The elegant master bathroom has designer fittings, including a shower, WC, sink and bidet. The second bathroom decorated with luxury fittings, including WC, sink and bidet and provides excellent views of the lake.
The gourmet kitchen, finished in beechwood and black granite, is fully equipped for the novice and experienced chef alike, with a built in full size oven / hob / extractor fan, and a family sized fridge/freezer. Complete with filter coffee maker and cappucino maker. Other kitchen appliances are also provided for your convenience.
The lounge area has two designer luxury leather sofas which provide ample seating for six people. There is a large 37 inch LCD TV with DVD player and Playstation. There is also a micro stereo system with CD player/radio/SD card reader/IPOD docking station, which can be connected to any laptop by USB cable. The lounge has patio doors which lead onto the beautiful balcony with a breathtaking view across the lake to Varenna and Belaggio, from where you can watch the sunset.
The large balcony has wonderful views of the lake, which can be enjoyed with a glass of wine or whilst dining al fresco. Outdoor furniture is provided for your pleasure, including large table with six chairs and a rocking-two seater loving chair.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como has become a mecca for the more discerning traveller due to its intoxicating mix of breathtaking scenery, mouth watering delicious cuisine and world class amenities. The region has become synonymous with celebrities thanks to several high profile names seeking to make Lake Como their home in recent years.
With its sumptuous waterfront villas and dramatic peaks, the splendour of the Italian Lake District is legendary. Writers from Virgil to Hemmingway have flocked to Lake Como, inspired by its tranquil waters and surrounding snow capped mountains. With charming villages of Menaggio, Bellagio and Varenna located on the shores of the lake, you can acquaint yourself with the towns, its people, and their local customs. From here, cruise to gem-like islands, venture into medieval churches and roman ruins, and enjoy a lesson in Italian cooking. Savour the everyday joys of la dolce vita in one of Italy's most exquisite and exclusive spots.
Como has attracted visitors since at least Roman times, when the lake was called Lario. Dotted with villas, gardens, much of it remains the tranquil romantic setting that has inspired countless artists, good and bad, but also has become the weekend playground for nearby Milan, which is only 25 kms away from the southern end of the lake.
The lake is shaped like a wishbone, with two thin legs extending about 50 kms from end to end. It is less than 4.5 kms at its widest point, but is one of the deepest lakes in Europe, reaching a depth of over 1300 feet at its deepest point. The eastern leg is often called Lago di Lecco. Interesting, the wind blows from the south from noon to sunset, and from the north during the night.
Along the shores of Lake Como are the charming towns of Tremezzo, Bellagio, Menaggio, Cernobbio and Varenna. In addition to enjoying the incredible natural beauty along the lake and relaxation, there is also golf, sailing, boating, rowing, canoeing, water skiing, hiking, flying school and horse riding. Oh, and of course there's Clooney spotting! George has been known to ride his Harley around the lake.
There's a selection of beaches within a 3 minute drive. A beautiful pool has just opened in Menaggio, which also has a bar and restaurant. It is located lakeside, beside a children's park which boasts a playground and mini golf course.
San Siro / Mastena area
San Siro lies on the western shore of the lake and is less than 40 kms away from the centre of Como. It is steeped in history from old fountains, chapels, small churches, and ruins of ancient convents and fortresses. It has also been blessed by nature with a blooming vegetation that covers most of the area and hosts various species of animals and trees.
We are located about 3 minutes drive from the centre of the village with bars, restaurants, and a number of other shops eg green grocer, florist etc. There is also a small shop just a short stroll away from the apartment itself which can cater for all your basic needs (milk, bread, water, wine etc).
San Siro has a lovely shingle beach and there are a number of other beaches just a short distance away. There are numerous small bars in the village, and a fantastic selection of restaurants and snack bars in the surrounding areas (La Biaia being just one of our favourites, offering a wide menu, fabulous taste, a beautiful setting and great value.)
Many neighbouring villages, both to the north and south have fantastic beaches with ample beach bars/restaurants. You can find a variety of restaurants to satify your needs, from the tourist menu, excite your tastebuds with local cuisine, to treating yourself to a local speciality meat or fish dish. It's well worth just wandering around to see what you can discover.
The area is a hotspot for water sports, with boating, jet skiing, windsurfing and kite boarding being a few of the favourites.
How to get there
The apartment is within easy reach of Milan's 3 international airports (Linate, Bergamo, Malpensa) served by a number of airlines including Ryanair, Jet2 and Easyjet. Linate approx 1 hr, Malpensa 1 hr, Bergamo 1.5 hrs. All airports have rail links to Milan. Trains run frequently to Como town from Milan with regular bus services to San Siro. Car hire is available from all major airports and Como itself and is recommended as there is so much to see. Car hire companies include Hertz, Avis and Europcar. A private taxi can be arranged from airport at an additional cost.
