The Lombardy / Lake Como Area
Lake Como is the deepest lake in Europe, the third largest of the Italian Lakes and one of the most beautiful areas in Italy. A distinctive Y-shaped lake and the most scenically stunning is surrounded by tall peaks that rise more or less directly from the water's edge, the luxuriance of its vegetation is equalled by the opulence of the local villas and palazzi; and when such things begin to cloy, there are good hikes in its mountainous hinterland.
San Siro area
The little 'comune' of San Siro is in the Como province of Italy's Lombardy region, on the western banks of Lake Como. Some 70km north of Milan (Milano) and 30km north-east of the town of Como, it has a population of less than 2000 and borders Bellano, Cremia, Dervio, Menaggio, Perledo and Plesio. Nearby towns include Plesio, Menaggio, Griante, Tremezzo, Porlezza, Lezzeno, Gravedona, Pellio Intelvi, Laglio and Lugano (just over the border in Switzerland).
San Siro’s centre is 1.5 km away where you will find grocery shops and restaurants as well as a public beach on the lake. Menaggio's town centre is 3 mins away by car. This is a bustling, lively town that is a good base for hiking and cycling in the mountains as well as sunbathing and swimming. The ferry jetty is about five minutes' walk from the main square, Piazza Garibaldi, in and around which you'll find most of Menaggio's lakeside cafés and restaurants. San Siro (formally Santa Maria Rezzonico) - situated in one of the best spots on Lake Como, where the scenery of the lake and the mountains is something really special - a place where you can relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the lake. There is a secluded lane in Rezzonico which stands out as the quintessential Lago di Como path. Entirely residential except for the Ristorante Lauro located about a third of the way down, the stone work of the walls and the patina of the cobbles exhibited the kind of character that only time can create and the love of people who live there can maintain.
Santa Maria di Rezzonico (as it was formally known) is a small town dominated by the remains of the Casrtello della Torre, a little more than 200 meters above the waters edge, of which remain only the foundations of the wall and a 14th century crenellated Tower.

Payments by Credit/Debit Card & Wire Transfer. There are no additional charges for credit or debit card payments. However, all bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the sender. To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our booking form online and pay a 30% deposit. The remaining balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
