The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

- To describe Griante who better to enlist than none other than Longfellow wrote of this pretty village in 1879..
I ask myself is this a dream? Will it vanish into air?

- Is there a land of such supreme and perfect beauty anywhere? Holidaymakers who have visited the region will no doubt bare testimony to the statement.

- Cadennabia and Griante forms one town, Cadennabia on the lake and Griante, a residential area perched 50 metres up the hill looking down on the lake. The residence features 9 spacious, beautifully appointed, luxury homes situated in a tranquil location.

Ideally located to reach nearby Villa Carlotta with its majestic gardens, Bellagio directly across the lake, the Cadennabia and Menaggio golf club, shingle beach, lido and pool and golden sand beach all available either by foot or a short drive.

The San Siro area

There are a selection of beaches locally. Pianello Del Lario's Laguna Beach which is 5 minutes by car, probably offers the best activity as it is a mecca for water-sport lovers particularly wind-surfing and sailing.

Great to people watch from the beach front cafe or pizzeria if you are not the active type. There are two really nice restaurants on the lake side beside the beach area. Cremia also has a really nice beach area and lovely restaurants on the lake-side

The famous and stunning Menaggio Golf Club is only 15 minutes from the apartment. This is an 18 hole par 70 course which really rewards those who can hit the fairway off the tee as it is built into the mountain so all airways are tree-lined. T

he views from many of the holes and the fresh air is incredible. There is also a really nice club-house as part of the club so it is also a nice place to go for a coffee or to people watch with many of the Milanese jet-set members here. There are many other course in the vicinity and they can be checked out at the tourist office in Menaggio or on-line.

Madesimo is approx 1.25 hours drive. This is a really beautiful resort with great skiing which is mainly frequented by Italians.

It is very organized and really inexpensive. St. Moritz is probably the most famous resort which is approx. 2 hours away. There are many other resorts within 1 2 hour drive and there is even a night-time ski-run close by.

There are numerous restaurants, bars, pizzerias, ice cream parlours, supermarkets in the vicinity of the apartment.Numerous restaurants (mainly family-run) invite you to taste delicious Italian food while enjoying amazing views of the surrounding landscape across the lake.

You can be as active as you like or spend the time peacefully relaxing. Take a hiking trip into the wild valleys of the area or explore it by mountain bike. Stroll around colourful markets or take a boat trip around the lake with the whole family. Activities are too numerous to mention - almost all sports are catered for.

Milan Malpensa - 1 hour
Milan Linate - 1 hour
Bergamo - 1.5 hours
The airports have rail links to Milan Central Station with trains running frequently to Como City from Milan. From Como there are regular bus services to San Siro.
Reasonably priced car hire is available at all the airports and is recommended to ensure you see as much as possible on your visit as there is so much to see around the lake and in the Lombardy region as well as neighbouring Switzerland.
