This beautifully restored house offers quality, space and comfort. The views from the terraces of Morocco and Gibraltar are breathtaking. The lounge is huge and has a wireless internet connection, English TV and lots of DVDs, books & games. The beamed dining room has an open fire place and a table to seat 8 people. Cool off in the pool which is situated in the typical Andalusian patio in the centre of the house and measures 7 metres by 3 metres.
The location can not be beaten; situated in the southwest tip of Andalucia there is something for everyone. Fabulous national park which has great walking and is a bird watchers paradise, stunning unspoilt beaches both on the Costa de la Luz and the Costa del Sol and some of the best golf courses in Europe. In summer you will be very grateful to be near the sea as inland is scorching and our local beaches don't get the galeforce winds of the west coast.
Without doubt Casa Julio Verne is a fabulous house set in a wonderful part of "real Spain".
NB. There are cheap flights into Gibraltar this summer (just 15 minutes away) from the UK, please check.

The house has one large double/twin bedroom and one suite with a kingsize bed on the groundfloor, these rooms have fans. The suite on the top floor has a large sunny bedroom and a dressing room, the bedroom has airconditioning. The library can be converted into a 4th bedroom with a single bed or twin beds, as required. All the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms except bedroom 4 which has a lavatory next door and is more suitable as a children's room as it is smaller. They are full of personal touches with fresh flowers, fabulous beds and egyptian cotton sheets.
There are two roof terraces, one with a large dining table and chairs and a bar b que, the other with a pergola, sofa and sun loungers.

The property has a garage for one medium sized car and there is parking most of the day on the square outside the house.

There are many stairs in the house and it is on different levels, so you may not consider this house suitable for the elderly or very young children who are not used to stairs, however we do have a child ourselves so there is a stair gate on the main staircase and most importantly, the door to the pool can be locked.
Conditions
30% of the total to be paid at time of booking. The remaining 70% to be paid 6 weeks before arrival.
The house is cleaned once a week on change over day.
Minimum rental period is 5 days.

The province has some of the most beautiful unspoilt beaches in Spain, great golf courses and the stunning Los Alcornacales national park which is a haven for walking and bird watching.
Whales and dolphins can be seen in the straits off Tarifa.
Seville has some of the most beautiful architecture in Spain and Jerez has numerous sherry bodegas and the school of the famous "dancing horses".
Go up the rock of Gibraltar, absorb its history and see the apes and siege tunnels.
The San Roque area
San Roque is a traditional charming village with great value tapas bars and restaurants within a few minutes walking distance. The bullring, which has its own museum, is one of the oldest in Andalucia. San Roque has its own carnival, ferias and an impressive Easter procession.
Although in the centre of the old town Casa Julio Verne is tucked away in a very quiet street so there is no road noise.
Within 10 minutes drive, there is a choice of quiet beaches, including the stunning Alcaidesa beach, which has an EU blue flag. Tarifa and the west coast are just 30 minutes away.
Travel 10 minutes inland to the spectacular Los Alcornocales National Park, with its picture-postcard pueblos blancos - white villages - nestled into the hillsides and turquoise lakes, for superb walking and bird-watching.

Casa Julio Verne is 15 minutes from Gibraltar airport, 1 hour 10 from Malaga and 1 hour 10 from Jerez. Monarch and easyjet fly into Gibraltar, ryanair into Jerez and almost all of the charter airlines into Malaga. skyscanner,net is useful to view all the flights on one page.
From Malaga ~ Take A7/E15 towards Algeciras / Cadiz
Come off at exit 119. Signposted San Roque, La Linea, Gibraltar.
At bottom of slip road turn right and follow the road around the outside of San Roque. When you meet the big road turn right into San Roque Centro/Sur.
Go straight over roundabout and continue straight. At the junction (with BBVA bank on your right) turn right up the hill into street “San Filipe”.
At the top turn left infront of the church.
Turn right at T into Manzana street.
Take second turning on the left called Artillero
Turn right at T. This brings you into a square Plaza Espartero
Casa Julio Verne is in the opposite side of the square (painted mustard colour around the windows), near the Panaderia, in street Sagasta.

I visited San Roque with my golfing friends in April this year.This was our fifth annual visit to Casa Julio Verne.The house is very comfortable and spacious with wonderful views of Gibralter from the roof terrace . San Roque itself is very pretty and we always receive a warm welcome in the local tapas bar. We stayed at Casa Julio Verne for a week as we were attending a wedding in Tarifa. We had the most amazing time and have come home with some fond memories! This house is beautiful and we spent most of our evenings on the roof terrace overlooking the sea and Gibralter! We would recommend to anyone and everyone!! As well as being picturesque it was also excellent value for money and we look forward to planning our next trip there! Thank you Rose!!
