The North West Italy / Italian Riviera/Liguria region
Italy is very CHILD FRIENDLY. Situated near beautiful villages in the heart of the Ligurian mountains and only 17 kilometres from the coast, there are many things to do, see and taste in the area. Beautiful mild climate. Swimming from March to November. Swimming in the sea Hop in the car, drive for 18km and stretch out on the beach. SKIING 1H30 from the mill. Limone
San Remo / Agaggio area
Beautiful mountain villages. The area is known for its olive oil. Little restaurants and pizzerias. Famous italian ice creams and thick hot chocolate. Outdoor activities: Swimming in the river Just step out of the house, walk down the stairs and swim! If you fancy a change, you can go to Molini di Triora, where there is a big river pool and a nice picnic spot (with shade and a playground for children)
A new 25km sea-side promenade/cycling path for bikes, roller-skates and pedestrians runs from Ospedaletti to San Lorenzo passing through San Remo. You can hire bikes and roller skates for the whole family for just a few Euros. In the next few years the intention is to extend the path to 70km in length.
Swimming in the sea Windsurfing and kite surf Tennis Walking Golf Mountain climbing Cycling (don't forget that we are in the mountains, so a good set of muscles is required) Canyoning Scuba diving Horse-riding Special for kids One thing you'll notice when you get to Italy, is that children are loved. Even the smallest village will have a fantastic playground, restaurants will generally have high chairs and sometimes even a basket of toys, and no-one will frown upon you if your children get a bit active. Quite the opposite...
Beautiful towns to visit The region is full of amazing medieval villages and towns to discover, with their windy streets and hidden treasures. More info at: www.turismoinliguria.it Here is a list of the one swe prefer:

Guestbook for Molino
"The Mill is beautifully situated, tastefully decorated, and very well equipped with just about everything you could possibly want on a short holiday away. It was very clean when we arrived, and we particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches of fresh bread, olive oil and chocolates. The only noise was the sound of the river, and this is a sound we all enjoyed! The surroundings are beautiful. We enjoyed the walks in the area and the small hilltop villages. The maps and info left in the Mill were very helpful for orienting ourselves. There is wonderful grocers in the village about 15 mins walk away, which has everything you could wish for, including a good range of fresh fruit and veg. The Mill was easy to find - our directions were good. A wonderful place to stay - we'll be back!"
