About the home

Located only 10 minutes from Murcia (San Javier) airport and 45 minutes from Alicante airport. A spacious 2 bedroom townhouse located within the traditional Spanish seaside town of Lo Pagan, San Pedro del Pinatar, on the Mar Menor, and close to the famous salt lakes and regional nature park of San Pedro del Pinatar, with a large variety of migrating birds including flamingos. It is ideally located for walking and cycling and is a great location for visiting the Mar Menor and surrounding area.

The house shares a large communal swimming pool and is only a 5 minute drive or short walk away from the beaches of the Mediterranean or the Mar Menor, with a choice of numerous lovely beaches close by, accessible on foot or by bike. The house is within walking distance of the Mar Menor beach of Lo Pagan, the beaches of the Mediterranean and the town centre of San Pedro del Pinatar which offers a wide range of shops, supermarkets and restaurants. Within walking distance if you do not wish to drive, is a bus station with regular services to Cartagena, Murcia, Alicante, Torrevieja, Madrid, etc, and airport pick ups can be arranged if required.

A spacious house with a ground floor terrace, 1st floor bedroom terrace, and roof terrace, spacious lounge / dining area, fully fitted kitchen with all the comforts you’ll need including satellite TV.

The house has air conditioning/heating, with added ceiling fans in the lounge and the bedrooms, with 2 single beds in each bedroom and fitted wardrobes.
The lounge has 2 seater and 3 seater sofas. There is a CD/Radio/Cassette player in the lounge, and a BBQ for outside use, with patio furniture and recliners.

Guests are welcome to have free use of the bicycles left in the house, together with the beach equipment: parasol, mats, beach chairs etc. Everything is provided for a wonderful holiday, including linen and towels, but please bring own beach towels.

The Costa Calida region

Murcia is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas in Spain, and lies along 253km of stunning Mediterranean coastline known as the Costa Calida, which literally means “warm coast”. Murcia enjoys an enviable climate – over 300 days of sunshine a year with an average temperature of over 19 degrees, and you can see why it is called the market garden of Europe with all the varied crops being grown.

The Mar Menor is the largest saltwater lagoon in Europe, covering a surface of 170sq.m. and having a maximum depth of only 7 metres. This area boasts mild winters, very low annual rainfall and over 3000 hours of sunshine each year, giving the region a very dry atmosphere all year round. The waters themselves have very high therapeutic qualities and together with the climatic conditions have produced large deposits of mud and clay. These muddy deposits are believed by many to contain natural healing properties, particularly for many skin complaints. They also possess anti-inflammatory properties important for the treatment of rheumatism, arthritis and bone fractures.

As well as the places to visit on the coast there are many interesting and varied places to visit around the Murcia region, such as Cartagena and the lovely city of Murcia itself, together with the fertile and wine growing areas inland.

The San Pedro Del Pinatar area

San Pedro is a typically Spanish town with lots of activities close by including water sports, golf, canoeing, fishing, horse riding, bird watching, and is ideal for bike riding and lovely walks. San Pedro also has a large, lively weekly market on a Monday which offers leather goods, clothes, locally grown produce, fish, meat, etc. Nearby, there are numerous bars, cafes, and a large selection of restaurants, as well as Indian, Italian and Chinese.

Lo Pagan / San Pedro del Pinatar is well known for its salt baths and the healing properties of its waters for various skin ailments and arthritis. Within walking distance, are the salt lakes and regional nature park, Las Salinas, which offers protection to flocks of flamingos, wild life and migratory birds, and is an attractive and calming area to explore using the various walkways available winding around the sand dunes and salt lakes.

Facing the tranquil waters of the Mar Menor, San Pedro del Pinatar is one of the main tourist destinations along the Murcia coast. Traditionally a seafaring and agricultural centre, San Pedro has become one of the principal towns of the Costa Calida.

The area is very flat and is ideal for walking and cycling. There are a numerous golf courses nearby with Campoamor, Las Ramblas, and Villamartin, and new courses at Roda Golf and La Serena, all within 15 minutes and many more close by, including La Finca, Marquessa, Torre Pacheco, the famous La Manga Golf complex, and many more new courses being built and opening.

The house has EVERYTHING you could possibly need and the cycles are such a bonus!! The solarium is sunny and private and the pool area is fantastic for kids

The location is perfect – use of car kept to a minimum as views, walks, cyclepaths, shops and bars are al on the doorstep, and the walk into Lo Pagan is a great way to walk off dinner and drinks.
