About the home
We have furnished our two bedroomed apartment very comfortably as we use it ourselves, often. If you want loud nightclubs, English Bars and cafe's selling egg and chips, then this, we are sorry, is not the apartment for you. We are located 5 minutes from a Nature reserve where thousands of beautiful flamingoes stop on their migratory path to Africa for the whole of the Summer months. They make a lovely sight as you wander through the many paths through the nature reserve itself. The beach at Lo Pagan is only a 15 minute walk away, or a 3 minute drive. There is new indoor spar at the local hotel.There are a number of first class golf resorts within a 20 minute drive from the Apartment. The famous La Manga Club is at the bottom of the Mar Menor. We offer brand new bikes for hire at 25% of the cost of local bike hire and late this year (2013) we will add English TV. There is a local WIFI service that is very reasonably priced.
The waters of the Mar Menor (Little Sea), are said to have healing minerals in and you can often see older ladies and gents covering themselves from head to toe in the mud. It is said that they can help sufferers of rheumatism and arthiritis.

The apartment is reached by a private staircase and then our own private balcony. The front door opens into the Lounge which has a very comfortable double size sofa bed that transforms very easily. It also has a further armchair, dining table and 4 chairs and a 21" colour TV and DVD player. We have left a number of family DVDs for your pleasure and we also have a CD player with a selection of CDs for you to listen to. The lounge leads onto the kitchen which has all modern appliances for your use. There is a cupboard in the kitchen which has the ironing board (should the fancy take you), and hanging space.This room in turn leads onto the utility area which has the washing maching, which you are more than welcome to use. There are 2 ceiling fans in the lounge to keep you cool.
Bedroom 1 has a large comfortable double bed and a bedroom chair. There are large fitted wardrobes with ample hanging and shelf space for your clothes. There is also a ceiling fan and two bedside lamps as well as a large stand fan. There is also an alarm clock should you wish to wake before 10am !
Bedroom 2 has two single beds with a table lamp between them and a large fitted wardrobe for your clothes.
We also have a travel cot for our younger guests.
There is some lego in the wardrobe for smaller children, please feel free to use it.
The bathroom has a bath and shower, W/C, wash hand basin and bidet (for cleaning your feet)!!! lol
The roof terrace is also exclusive to us and is not overlooked at all. It is very private and you can sun bathe or entertain up here. It is accessed by the main staircase. We have patio furniture/sun loungers for you to use on the roof as well as an umbrella to keep the sun off should you require it.
Further details outdoors:
Externally there is a communal swimming pool at the rear of the block, close enough so you don't have to worry about the kids, but far enough away so that in the evenings you can sit out on the terrace and enjoy some fine wine and not have to listen to the noise from the pool.
We are non smokers and whilst we do not object to smokers using the apartment, we would respectfully request that you do not smoke in the apartment itself. This just keeps it nice for everyone and to be honest, you would enjoy your puff more, leaning over the balcony and watching the world go by.

I take a non refundable 25% deposit with the balance due in full 12 weeks before you fly. I post the keys to you a week before you go and will also include a brochure I have drawn up and local maps. Please feel free to use any tea,coffee or sugar, washing powder, plasters or anything else you may find in the apartment. But please also be good enough to replace it before you leave, thankyou.
The Costa Calida region
The region of Murcia has been declared the cleanest part of Spain by the World Health Organisation. We are surrounded by a beautiful nature reserve and stunning golf courses.. This region is lucky enough to enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine every year and the calm waters of the Mar Menor mean safe bathing for adults and children alike. There are watersports on the beach at San Pedro and kiosks where you can eat and drink and watch the world go by. There is the most idyllic quiet beach accessed via the nature reserve, it is never busy. There are no shops or bars here, just a couple o fmiles of lovely sandy beach. It is on the Atlantic side of the mar menor so it does get a bit more choppy in the waves but it's a minor trade-off for the tranquility you get.
The San Pedro Del Pinatar area
Coulourful local markets can be found every day of the week from San Pedro to Santiago de la Ribera and Los Alcazares. There are many local festivals especially at Easter and there is an abundance of restaurants and places to visit. There are lots of supermarkets within walking distance and locals are friendly and ameniable. There is a nightmarket and funfair every night at Lo pagan which is a 25 minute walk, 10 minute bike ride or 4 minute car drive away. It's great to see all the locals turn out in all their finery, savour the real spanish flavour at the many restaurants and see the sand sculptors at work on the beach.
How to get there

You can fly from Luton, Stanstead, Gatwick, East Midlands, Manchester and numerous other airports to Murcia San Javier airport, which is approx 2hours and 15 minutes flight time. Airlines include Ryanair, Easyjet, Flybe, Iberia and more. We can let you have contact details of economic car hire companies. The apartment is only a 10 minute drive from the airport so shouldn't cost more then about 20euros in a taxi. We will send you full photographic signpost directions how to get there so if you hire a car, don't worry, you will find your way with ease.
Only a 7 or 8 minute walk away from the apartment is a bus garage and from there you can take a coach to almost anywhere!
If you fancy driving from the UK to the apartment, it can be done as I have done it 3 times now. It's a spectacular drive and I can provide you with all the maps you will need. It will take you 2 days each way with an overnight stop in southern France (Montpellier) but it is actually a lot cheaper then flying. I drove in 2012 and with the fuel and toll road costs, plus the hotel, it cost me about £700 there and back.
