it is officially in the small area of europe classed as sub tropical. The sandy beaches of the Costa del Sol provide a perfect place for a great summer retreat with you and your family. Aside from world class beaches and golf courses, the historic towns of Cadiz and Ronda make a memorable day out for all ages, and if its excitement you're after, Puerto Banus night life, beach clubs, local waterparks and watersport centres provide the fix any adrenalin junkie could wish for.
The San Pedro de Alcantara / San Pedro Playa area
La Gavia, a safe gated community, has a best-of-both worlds location on the Costa del sol set in an uncrowded strip of the coast whilst still being in the heart of what the Costa del Sol has to offer. La Gavia is a 3 minute walk from the sandy beach of the town of San Pedro - just 5 minutes drive from the bustling town of Puerto Banus - and is surrounded by a host of world class tennis clubs and golf courses, including the Club de Golf Guadamalina (walking distance) or Los Naranjos Gold Club. Fancy trying something new? Try your hand at the local sport of padel - a mix of tennis and squash - in the walking-distance of La Gavia at the padel/tennis club, Club de Padel.
Day hot spots such as the Bora Bora beach club and the relaxed El Ancia are only 10 minutes walk away and some excellent restaurants sit around La Gavia, which are as popular with the locals as they will be with you.
A scenic costal 30 minute walk or quick taxi can take you into Puerto Banus and Marbella for boutique shopping, gastronomic delights (Lamoraga is a must visit), the ancient Marbella old town, the best beach clubs on the coast (Sala/Buddha Beach and Ocean Club) and of course their famous vibrant nightlife.
No trip to La Gavia is complete without visiting the nearby mountain village of Benahavis, often referred to as the dining table of the Costa del Sol. Visit for a memorable evening of excellent local cuisine.
