About the home

The property is secured with a telephone entry system and private car park. The spacious open plan lounge/dining room is furnished to a high standard with air conditioning/heating, there is also a DVD & CD player. We are in a residential part of San Miguel not on an urbanisation, just 1 minute walk from the high street where you will find restaurants, bars and shops, many of which are tucked away down side streets. You need to go exploring to find all the different cuisines and styles of restaurants, you can even have dinner in a cave!! San Miguel has something for everyone. Come and see for yourself you won’t be disappointed.

Fully fitted kitchen with good quality cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery & glasses.
There is also a set of matching unbreakable cups, glasses and plates you can take to the beach, along with a cool box and ice blocks to keep everything cool.
Please bring your own beach towels as these are not provided.
Both twin bedrooms are spacious and have fitted wardrobes, bedside tables & ceiling fans.
The bathroom is fully tiled and has a hair dryer.
There is an information pack with useful numbers for emergencies.
It also contains brochures and restaurant cards please feel free to add to this.
There are DVDs, CDs, games, cards and books for your pleasure.

Further details outdoors:
We have a large balcony, with views of the Costa Blanca Mountains, ideal for sitting and watching the sun go down with a chilled glass of wine.
There is a huge roof solarium for private sun bathing or having a BBQ. The views from here are spectacular you can see the de Salinas (salt lakes) that go dark pink as the day goes on. In the evening you can see all the twinkling lights of Torrevieja in the distance.
We have a gated communal swimming/ jacuzzi pool, and shower.
Within 2 minutes walk there is a large municipal pool (open in the summer) and tennis courts.
There is wheelchair access to the apartment lifts and slopes, but like so many Spanish rooms they are not big enough for a wheelchair inside. If you can walk a little around the apartment then this is ideal for you.
San Miguel has a very good bus service to Torrevieja & Cartagena

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

The Costa Blanca is known for its white sandy EU blue flag beaches, close to us are 5 such beaches they are Campoamor, La Mata, La Zenia, Cabo Roig & Guardamar all within a short drive.
Mar Menor is a 20 minute drive from the apartment. A large lagoon, an ideal swimming area for young children. Close by are the famous San Pedro mud baths, renowned for their healing properties, well worth a visit.
There are over fifteen 18 hole golf courses in Costa Blanca, some are even ranked regularly amongst the top courses in the world. Courses 10 minutes drive from the apartment are Real Club de Golf Campoamor,
Las Ramblas, Villamartin & La Finca Algorfa Golf. The famous La Manga Club is approx 45 minutes. Contact details of all golf courses given on request.
There is loads to do for all the family:

The most notable theme park in Spain is Terra Mitica just outside Benidorm, 1hour drive away. Turn upside down at a hundred kilometres per hour in one of the park’s proposals that mix your emotions with the cultural nearby ideas. Tizona shoots adrenaline in 35 seconds of nose-dive falls, 360º looping and corkscrew turns, and Magnus Colossus the longest wooden roller coaster in Europe. Mundomar
The most extensive and most famous Mundomar A cross between a zoo and sea world. A fascinating water world inhabited by the most beautiful and interesting marine and exotic animals. There are entertaining live shows, synchronized dancing with dolphins, Sea lions, & Parrots. Also the giant aquarium which is open all day. They also have a children’s playground for little legs. Caves and museums
Troglodytes and those with geological interests will no doubt wish to visit the prehistoric caves at Benidoleig or the nearer Cuevas del Canelobre http://www.denia.com/web/LaCovaDeBenidoleig/index-uk.htm
The Cave has an impressive history. For more than 100.000 years Palaeolithic dwellers used the place as a refuge. There are also a number of museums, aquariums and art galleries plus places of archaeological and architectural interest within easy reach and if you get bored with building sand castles, you can visit some real ones. Spain is a land full of castles and the Costa Blanca is no exception. Alicante boasts an archaeological museum, a bonfire museum and 20th century art gallery.

The San Miguel area

San Miguel has everything from the traditional Spanish church to shops, banks, bars, restaurants & a health clinic with 24/7 emergency doctors. We have a very good bus service to Torrevieja & Cartagena both excellent for shopping. Wednesday is our market day where there is a bargain for everyone. September is the main fiesta time with a parade that everyone joins in young and old. There is the diversity of the Salinas – unique Salt Lakes, The Campo – the countryside with its acres of Orange, Lemon and Almond Groves, and the backdrop of the natural mountainside. It really is a lovely place but don’t take my word for it come and see for yourself!!
