The Island of Gozo region

The island is peaceful and compared to the main island Malta, greener with beautiful countryside. Gozo is home to the popular Azure Window, a natural arch formed millions of years ago when a limestone cave collapsed. One can find a number of secluded beaches on the island and seaside resorts popular with tourists and locals alike. The most popular are Marsalforn and Xlendi Bay. Gozo is considered one of the top diving destinations in the Mediterranean and a Mecca for water sports.

Gozo is also known for its history especially the ?gantija temples, megalithic temples dating back to 3500 BC. In fact they are older than the the Pyramids.

Gozo is a great location for a relaxing holiday in summer or in winter.

San Lawrenz

San Lawrenz is a quiet village located 1.5 km from the Azure Window, the Inland Sea, & the Fungus rock. It is only 5 Km from the capital of Gozo Victoria. A well stocked supermarket "The Lighthouse" is situated just at the entrance to the village. It is open half days on Sundays and also on public holidays. In the main village square on can find the church, a band club bar, a restaurant, the local council and a location of free WiFi. The whole village is surrounded by picturesque fields and hills.

"Excellent apartment in quiet area."

Booked this place for a quick diving get-a-way at reasonable short noitce and found the owner really easy to deal with.
Good communication menat it was easy to find the appartment and pick up the keys even though owners were away on holiday at the time.
There are roadworks going on in Gozo at the time of our holiday but we had been warned so knew to take alternative route and found the place with no problems. The local travel serives i.e. bus stops are very close to the appartment so a car isn't necessary but does make things easier.
The gentleman living below is very friendly and helps out in many wasys with lots of local information.
3 large double bedrooms and two well appointed bathrooms made sure we all had enough room to ourselves.
TV and DVD's kept us entertained in the evening as were too tired to go out after diving (wen't with St Andrews' in Xlendi) and the kitchen has everything you need and a great freezer.
We lucked out at the Arcadia shppoing centre in Victoria which were doing a promotion of food and there are lots of local shops but especially recommend the fish market on the road from Xewkiia to the harbour.
Overall highly recommended and will definately come back if we visit Gozo again

"Gozo - great plece for active holidays with family:)"

When we arrived, there was a transfer to the apartment, which is very convenient. We have not calculated the distance to the nearest beach. In general, the distance between the beaches in Gozo are big and foot travel is not very comfortable, but very useful.)
In Victoria, we rented a couple of bikes. You can also rent a car, but I think that walking and cycling are much more useful. On the island a good bus service.
The apartment had everything we needed for rest and comfort. Not far is a small shop with food and things needed, and next to him has a craft village where you will easily choose the wonderful souvenirs. And you can stop off to Victoria for fresh fruit and vegetables and seafood.
Gozo is very cozy and quiet and a great place for family and relaxation.
In the morning we stocked up fresh pastries and fruit, and were going to remote beaches, where we enjoyed a mild and gentle climate of the island and clear sea.
Here's my little review.
