Our beach house is a pretty semi detached building, located in a compound with pool, within a five minutes walk from the sea (Playa de San Juan and Cabo de las Huertas). It is ideal for a season in search of relaxation, sun, beaches and great weather. Visiting Alicante in autum or winter is also a great opportunity to enjoy the warmness of Costa Blanca, specially if you live in northern Europe or in countries with snowy and cold winters...!! Our average temperature is 18º without major oscillations: summers are warm while winters are mild. If you do not know Alicante, search in Google images or Youtube to take a great tour across this beautiful province.

The house accommodates up to 7 people (5 in bedrooms + 2 in sofabed). It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen with dining and spacious lounge overlooking the garden. The house is rented as a whole, and it is perfect for families.

The garden is nice and quiet, and there is a large wooden pavilion next to a tree, from which a great hammock is hanging.

The Valenciana region

Taken from

"Over 218 kilometres of coastline packed with soft sand beaches washed by calm waters, 2,800 hours of sunshine per year, a privileged climate and a warm sea have been the main attractions for our millions of visitors for decades.

Over time, the development of modern tourist infrastructure and communications routes has made it easier to reach the Costa Blanca. The landscape is not just defined by the sea, but also by the mountains that overlook it. Alicante is the second most mountainous province in Spain and it is here that we see the grandeur of the Mediterranean landscape. From valleys that are home to crops grown on terraces originally created by the Moors to a horizon packed with oaks, pines and carob trees perfumed by a wide variety of aromatic plants. Those who love mountains and hiking are sure to enjoy the well-signed paths that run through our inland districts. In the south, the mountains give way to palm groves and the smallholdings stretch as far as the eye can see.

Our region is also dotted with archaeological sites that give some idea of the rich history of an area that has been populated for thousands of years. Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Muslims have all left their mark and the remains give us a glimpse of how they lived. Whether on the coast or inland, you'll be able to discover our rich local dishes and the quality wines from our vineyards.

If you want, you can visit tiny villages hidden among the mountains and modern coastal towns with a lively nightlife. History and monuments mark the landscape of our inland villages and towns. Along the coast there are numerous marinas and countless facilities to allow you to enjoy the sea and water sports.

Golf lovers know that our golf courses have facilities that are second to none.

We aim to ensure that all travellers find what they are looking for on the Costa Blanca and that's what we strive towards each and every day. "

San Juan Beach

"Alicante is situated in the Bay formed by the Cabo de las Huertas and the Cabo de Santa Pola, at the foothills of the Monte Benacantil.

Alicante has a view over the sea and the fertile ´huerta´, that surrounds the city. Alicante´s historical district is located in the area around the Calle Labradores and the Rambla de Méndez Núñez.

The Playa del Postiguet is located at one end of the Esplanade, the Canalejas Park with its Fish Market - now converted into the best exhibition hall in Alicante - on the other. An interesting walk can be taken through the streets of the old centre and the Plazas del Carmen and Quijano, climbing up to the Castle of Santa Bárbara -a magnificent vantage point to view the entire city. Descending by the calles Toledo and San Roque you reach Plaza de Santa María where there is a Museum of Art - the Museum of the Asegurada- and the Church of Santa María.

From the Plaza del Carmen take the calle de San Rafael and climb up to the Santa Cruz district, a vividly colourful area with geraniums in pots. At night this area full of bars and cafés becomes the centre of Alicante´s nightlife. Alicante is an important service centre for the province. Alicante´s commercial centre is shifting eastwards, though the more traditional shops still remain in the calles Mayor, Castaños, Gerona and San Francisco. The avenidas Maisonnave, Federico de Soto, Doctor Gadea and the calle de los Reyes Católicos are the ´rive droite´ of the capital.

Gastronomy: Caldero (fish stew), many types of rice dishes, fish and seafood.

Monuments: The best place to visit is the old town centre with narrow steep streets lined with white houses. The calle Labradores and the Santa Cruz district are extremely attractive. Most of the city´s historical monuments are found in this area: the cathedral of St Nicolas, the Church of St Mary, the ayuntamiento (town hall) and the Asegurada Museum which contains Eusebio Sempere´s collection of contemporary art. A lift ascends from the old town centre and the beach to the castle of Santa Bárbara - for the best views over the city. The Esplanade and Doctor Gadea´s house reveal Modernist features. The Municipal Market, constructed at the beginning of the 20th century by Juan Vidal, is also worth visiting.

Areas: Old city centre, pedestrian commercial centre, panoramic views from the castle of Santa Bárbara, Tabarca Island (cruise leaves from the Port), walk along the Esplanade and the beautiful Playa de San Juan.

Cultural Attractions: The Asegurada Museum contains a collection of work donated by the artist Eusebio Sempere. The collection also includes work by Calder, Miró, Zobel, Picasso, Tàpies, Kandiski and Chagal. The Museum (965 14 03 68) is open from 10 AM to 2 Pm and from 4 PM to 8 PM. On Sundays and public holidays the Museum is open from 10.30 AM to 2.30 PM. Closed on Monday.

Festivals and Events: Alicante´s most well known fiestas are Les Fogueres held in honour of Saint John, which have been said to be of special interest to foreign tourists. The Fogueres consist of the plantà (assembly) and cremà (burning) of satirical sculptures with fiestas, poplar open-air celebrations, re-enactments, parades and floral offerings. These fiestas are held from the 20-29 of June. The fiesta of the patron saint of Alicante, the Virgin Healer, is held on the 5th of August with a Canticle to the Dawn. A long-standing Alicante fiesta is the pilgrimage to St Faz held on the second Thursday after Holy Week. Moors and Christians pageants are held in several districts including San Blas in mid June, and Altozano and José Antonio during the second half of August. In Villafranqueza, Saint Joseph is celebrated from the 15-19 of March.

Situation: Alicante is used as a national reference point to measure level of the sea. The city has extraordinarily good connections with the coastal area via the N-332 and the A-7 motorway. It is also easy to reach Madrid by road and rail. The airport is located 11 km away; there is a bus connection departing from the Bus Station.

"Ideal house for families and groups"

We spent one week at the house in the beginning of january 2014. The house was nice and big enough for seven persons. The house was well equipped and everything needed was there and even more. The house is not new anymore but it fullfilled our standards. The house owner is really nice and she was ready to help us in every question. We are an active sport family and happily we found a tennis club near the house. For the joggers it’s great to run on the beach line. One thing we also liked - there are also several good restaurants within a short walking distance. We can warmly recommend this pleasant and well equipped house for other visitors. Thank you Elena for the wonderful week at the house! Mikko & Ami

Dear Mikko, Thank you very much for your nice words. It was really a pleasure to have you and your family in the house. Hopefully you decide to come back again! Kindest regards, Elena

"Relaxing, bright, laid-back and conveniently placed."

I stayed at this home for a month during one summer and it was one of the best places I've stayed in. The home: This is a really open, light and airy house. Laid out over just one floor, it's really welcoming. There is a great sized front gated garden to play or chill in, as well as a big garden at the back with a separate enclosed lounge area - great for bringing friends over or having BBQs and playing music. The front room and kitchen are open-planned and really colourful, bright and friendly. The beds and sofas are all comfy; it's a real arty, chilled-out home to stay in and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is even a communal pool around the back which is for residents of the 'urbanizacion' (or 'estate'/'close'/'cul de sac'). It was so relaxing and a great getaway, I even went back for a long weekend a few months later! The area: A 20-30 minute drive from the airport, which goes along the beach and through Alicante itself - fantastic views - it's in a quiet and friendly residential area, which saw loads of families, young couples and groups of friends descend upon it from big cities all over Spain, as well as from other countries in Europe, at the beginning of summer. It is conveniently just a 5-minute walk (if that!) down to the beach Playa de San Juan - which stretches for a good while - amazing for a beach run or stroll. There are a few local bars and cafes along the beach which have really friendly staff; there's something for everyone - family restaurants, cafes for a drink in the afternoon, bars for music, dancing or chilling, and fast food restaurants. Alicante itself is reachable by 20-minutes on the bus or just 10 on the tram - both of which are frequent and so easy to use. Using both, you pass through the other neighbourhoods, again all dotted with great cafes, shops and supermarkets.
