Collinella 12 is the adjacent apartment to Collinella 14 , in a typical Tuscan farm building , newly renovated yet retaining the rustic charm, with stone walls and chestnut beams under a pantile roof. The hamlet is on a private road situated perfectly between San Gimignano and Volterra, with uninterrupted views across a rolling landscape. San Gimignano is 14 km away , a most beautiful walled medieval town with many restaurants and interesting shopping. Volterra is 15 km , another walled town with a bustling market and lovely buildings and cafes. Siena is 50km , steeped in history and Florence 60km distance offers many cultural and historical delights. There are several local restaurants in the area of Podera Collinella where one can enjoy the local dishes. Podera Collinella is situated off the main road to San Gimignano,3km along a 'white'road, lined with olive trees , mediterreanean bush ,and lovely rolling countryside. The road is an unmade private road which is inclined to be bumpy and may have potholes in bad weather!

The Tuscany region
Podera Collinella is beautifully positioned in the heart of Tuscany, an idyllic setting on a slight hill , affording spectacular views of the Tuscan landscape. It is a wonderful area to walk or cycle, and although totally peaceful down a private road . the main attractions of the area are easily accessible. It is a perfect palce to relax after a day's sightseeing and unwind with a glass of the local wine , - bring your paint box !
San Gimignano / Gambassi Terme area
San Gimignano , the nearest town , is famous for its 15th Century Towers and many festivals. It also offers a host of restaurants , delightfully situated along the cobbled streets and around the Piazza. Volterra is 15 km , a medieval walled town with its ampitheatre, historical buildings and many restaurants. As well as a good supermarket , here you will find a bustling street market where the local produce is brought on Saturdays. Siena , known for the festival of Il Palio is just over 30 minutes drive, offers history and art, restaurants and shopping. Wonderful for people watching at the Piazza del Campo where the street artists entertain amidst the many cafes and bars. Florence is accessible in under one hour , steeped in art and history, wonderful architecture and elegant shops.
How to get there
Fly to Pisa - Podera Collinella is one easy hours drive, on the Fi-Pi- Li motorway. Budget flights from most UK airports including Bournemouth , Bristol , Luton , Manchester as well as London. Ryanair, Thomsonfly and Jet 2, amongst others, fly regularly to Pisa. Fly to Florence from Heathrow or Gatwick. Collinella is about 55 minutes drive. Car ferry to Livorno. Train to Poggibonsi. All major car hire companies operate from Pisa. Podera Collinella is a converted farm and so is situated in a peaceful , rural location. It is at the end of a 3km private 'white' road.

Further details indoors: The superb landscape can be appreciated from all rooms in the villa, which are light and airy and have fitted wardrobes throughout. There is a covered terrace facing west , perfect to watch the sunset or keep in the shade during the day. The newly fittted kitchen and living area opens through arched french doors onto the south facing terrace, with dining furniture and umbrellas. Here one can enjoy the sunrise and the uninterrupted views across the rolling hills to Volterra. As Collinella is slightly elevated there are wonderful views all around. Although 12 and 14 are totally independent apartments they are adjacent, and could be perfect for two families or a large group who require privacy yet can get together when they wish. Together they sleep 12.
Further details outdoors: The shared pool is 7 m by 14 m and 1.5m deep and is open from May to October. The manager of the estate takes constant care of the pool and gardens. The apartment has a private garden with sitting areas in the sun and shade. Being in a slightly elevated position there are wonderful views all around the villa. There is a barbecue for guests use. All the garden furniture is new and there are sunloungers for use by the pool. The property is newly restored and in excellent condition.
