The hamlet consists of 13 apartments, slightly elevated with views stretching as far as Pisa and snow capped mountains; the surrounding landscape is spectacular. It is an idyllic place for walking and cycling , sampling the local fare at the various local restaurants , or just relaxing by the pool after a day sightseeing. It is beautifully positioned in the heart of Tuscany , offering the peace and charm of the countryside with the benefit of easy access to the major towns of San Gimignano , Siena , Volterra, Florence and Pisa. The apartment has its own private garden and terrace , but is adjacent to no 14 thus perfect for large groups or 2 familes who want privacy yet get together when they wish. Podera Collinella is situated off the main road to San Gimignano, 3km along a 'white' road, lined with olive trees and beautiful rolling countryside. Podera Collinella is a group of converted farm buildings situated in a very rural and beautiful location. It is located at the end of a 3km private , 'white road'so is traffic fand noise free.

The Tuscany region
Podera Collinella is beautifully positioned in the heart of Tuscany, set in an idyllic location on a slight hill offering spectacular views across the Tuscan landscape. It is a wonderful area to walk and cycle, and although totally peaceful down a private road , the main attractions of the area are easily accessible. It is a perfect place to relax after a day's sightseeing - bring your paint box !
San Gimignano / Gambassi Terme area
SanGimignano 14km away, famous for its medieval towers ,has a well preserved collection of architecture from 15th Century. It offers a host of restaurants delightfully situated along its cobbled streets and around the Piazza. Volterra is 15km drive, a medieval town with its ampitheatre, historical buildings and many restaurants.This lovely walled town with beautiful buildings has a bustling market.where the local produce is brought on Saturdays ; locally produced cheeses and olive oil as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.. Siena is 50 km ,known for the Il Palio and the lively Piazza del Campo. Access Florence in less than an hour, a city full of art and ancient architecture, lovely piazzas and shops. Pisa and delightful Lucca are one hour away. There are several restaurants in the area, which is known for its typically Tuscan cuisine. Castelfallfi Golf and Country club is 25 minutes drive. This is a beautiful 18 hole par 73 golf course, also there are tennis courts and stables, once the elegant Summer residence of the Medici family. see www.golfcastelfalfi.it. Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci is an easy drive, where there is a world famous museum dedicated to Leonardo .
How to get there
Fly to Pisa - Podera Collinella is one hour easy drive away. Budget flights from most UK airports , including Bournemouth and Bristol, Manchester and Newcastle as well as London. Ryanair , Thomsonfly and Jet 2, amongst others fly regularly to Pisa. Fly to Florence from Gatwick or Heathrow- Collinella is approx 55 mins drive. Car ferry to Livorno approx one hour. Train to Poggibonsi. All major car hire companies operate from Pisa. Podera Colllinella is a group of renovated farm buildings and so is in a very rural and beautiful location .It is situated 3km along a private 'white' road .

Further details indoors: The spectacular landscape can be seen from every room in the villa, which is light and airy and has fitted wardrobes throughout. The double bedroom downstairs has access to the garden and a shower bathroom. There is a covered terrace facing west, perfect to watch the sunset or keep in the cool during the day.The newly fitted kitchen and living area open through arched french doors onto the front South facing terrace , with table and chairs where one can enjoy the sunrise and the uninterrupted views across rolling hills to Volterra. As Collinella is slightly elevated there are wonderful views all around. Although 12 and 14 are separate apartments , they are adjacent and perfect for 2 families who want privacy and yet can get together when they wish. Together they will sleep 12.
Further details outdoors: The pool is open from May to October and is equipped with furniture and a gazebo. The pool is 14 m by 7m .by 1.5 deep.It is not secure for toddlers. Access is down a few steps behind the villa. 12 and 14 Collinella are unique in that the building is detached and so offers privacy , and terraces in the sun or shade , morning sunrise and sunset views. The private garden has various fruit trees, lavender and rosemary , and a barbecue for guest use. 12 and 14 are the building on the right of the photograph on the front page .

20% of the rental cost on reservation please .The balance is due 8 weeks before the holiday. Please pay by cheque or bank transfer. A £100 damages deposit is payable refunded on return.. Discount available if booking more than one apt with us at Collinella. Gas and electricity are included but central heating is charged at 100e per week if used.

We had a brilliant time- 11 of us all together, had a memorable dinner watching the sunset. Pool was great ! Thoroughly recommend a visit ! Chiswick The location is wonderful and we were very comfortable in the lovely apartment. We managed some painting and had lovely walks , local Castagno pizza restaurant was great fun! P and N from London We all had a fantastic time , breakfast on the terrace with that view and stunning sunsets from the covered terrace sipping our wine ! Feel our batteries are fully recharged- thank you, will come again . The Whites staffordshire We loved the covered terrace to be able to sit outside but in the shade and the views at sunset were beautiful. The furnishings were tasteful and the beds soooo comfortable- thank you so much, a little piece of heaven !
