Home description
Palazzo Brunati is an historical palace located just ten minutes walk from Salo' and 5 minutes walk from the beach. It was the holiday house of Abate Brunati, an important Garda letterate of 17th century. This is the place where you can take a great quiet, living contemporary in the nature and in the history together with sports activity (windsurf, sail, bike, golf). Nearest there are the Portese and Salo' ports where you can take a cruise with historical motorships to visit the liberty style town Gardone Riviera (the town where D'annunzio spent his life) or admiring mediterranean nature with olive, lemon and orange tree in a suggestive travel as described by Goethe's "Italy Journey" and Lawrence's "Twilight in Italy".

The Lombardy / Lake Garda Area
Lombardy (Lombardia) is a wealthy and busy region, but between commerce and industry it also fits in an amazing number of prime tourist destinations. Located in northern Italy, encompassing the Alps, the Lakes and the Po Basin, Lombardy's scenery is varied and sometimes dramatic. The flat area around Milan is dotted with art cities, but for a glimpse of natural splendours, head for the edge of the mountains. Here the Alps tumble down into steep valleys and lakes, in a scenic feast which has enraptured travellers for centuries. Lombardy's regional capital is Milan; and the region's other provinces are: Lecco, Varese, Como, Bergamo, Sondrio, Brescia, Cremona, Mantova, Pavia and Lodi. The region reaches up northwards to ski-centre Bormio and the Stelvio National Park. Lombardy is one of the greatest region of Italy; the capital is Milan. It is located in a strategical part northern Italy, near Venice, Verona, Bologna.
San Felice del Benaco area
The beautiful lakeside towns around Lago di Garda have charmed foreign visitors for centuries. Even for the ancient Romans, the area was a luxury summer destination; in Sirmione and Desenzano you can visit ruins and mosaics that record their presence. Lake Garda is long and slim with a southern end that is low, rolling land, fairly built-up. In contrast, the northen end is surrounding by towering mountains. DH Lawrence wrote in "Twilight in Italy": "I sat and looked at the lake. It was beautiful as paradise, as the first creation. On the shores were the ruined lemon-pillars standing out in melancholy, the clumsy, enclosed lemon-houses seemed ramshackle, bulging among vine stocks and olive trees. The villages, too, clustered upon their churches, seemed to belong to the past. They seemed to be lingering in bygone centuries. But it is very beautiful,EI protested. in England." Sometimes, expecially in the winter, you can sit at a pub on the lake, drinking a cappuccino; your sons playing on the beach kissed by the sun, and your life suddenly will slow down. In Spring and Summertime you can enjoy with a lot of sports, swim in the lake (it is bathing), or stay quiet visiting the San Felice, Salo', Gardone Riviera, Gargnano, Malcesine historical centre, taking a literary travel in the only place where Mediterranean flora bring together with higher mountains.
