A children's play area is directly opposite the property in landscaped gardens. The swimming pool and sports facilities are a short (2-3 mins) walk away. The pool is covered and heated in winter allowing all year round swimming. In summer it is open air surrounded on 3 sides by well maintained gardens and with a seperate children's pool. The other sports on site are Boules and Padel Tennis. Extra charges apply for the use of the pool and sports facilities. The centre also has a cafe bar which is open daily and has weekly entertainment all year round.

The Mar Menor (little sea) is Europe’s largest salt water lagoon covering over 135 sq km and is located at the northern end of the Costa Calida. The lagoon is separated from the Mediteranean by the La Manga strip which extends over 25 km from its connection with the mainland at the southern end of the Mar Menor. The lagoon is known for its therapeutic properties and is considered particularly good for rheumatism and arthritis as well as a number of common skin ailments. Most of the land in the region is agricultural and the area has been recognised by the World Health Organisation as the cleanest area in Spain having the lowest level of industrial pollution. The climate is excellent all year round with daily maximum temperatures ranging from an average 15-20degC in winter to 30-35degC during the summer. The property is located on an exclusive village development within easy reach of beaches, nature reserves and golf. There are over 15 superb golf courses within 30 minutes drive (including the famous La Manga resort), and the owner can advise on getting the best golf deals, and also arrange for you to play with a society. A large shopping complex can be found 10 minutes away at Dos Mares which has an Eroski hypermarket, along with electrical, fashion, jewellery and craft shops on the lower level. There is also a cinema, bowling and numerous food and drink outlets on the upper level. Via a short drive you can reach the beaches of the Mar Menor with their excellent watersports and safe bathing. The nearest resort is Los Alcazares with its long promenade and numerous beach bars. The town square also contains many restaurants and bars and these are open all year round. At the northern tip of the Mar Menor is the resort of Lo Pagan, and a short walk from here are the inland mud flats which are renowned for their therapeutic properties. The area also borders the nature reserve of San Pedro. Just beyond this are the mediteranean resorts of El Mojon and Torre de la Horadada, and all can be reached within 15 minutes by car. The resorts of El Mojon, San Pedro and Torre all have their own Marinas. The historic port of Cartagena (30 mins) and regional capital Murcia (40 mins) are also well worth a visit.
The San Cayetano area
The village is less than 5 minutes walk away and has a bakery, pharmacy, small supermarket, hardware store, hairdresser as well as a number of bar restaurants and banks. Free wi-fi access is available to customers in at least one of the bars.

Murcia airport is only 10 minutes drive from the property, which is served by most budget airlines from a variety of UK airports. Alternatively, Alicante airport is 45 minutes drive away, and again most UK based budget airlines serve this airport from numerous locations. A new airport at Corvera is due to open during Spring / Summer 2013, which is 25 mins drive.

The flat was really lovely and spacious. But I should listen to the previous feedbacks about the fridge in 2010. Fridge was still not working so our foods and ice cream melted. Complained and waited for two days. They brought new fridge and said we will have compensation but no far no action .. The owner did not clarify clearly about the community swimming pool , we had to pay every time we went in , so you can imagine we spent fortune on swimming pool entrances ... It is really a shame as the flat was so clean and lovely but not other things ... The owner's friend who takes care of the flat, he came to sort out the problems. We could see he was drunk... Overall we enjoyed the holiday luckily as we went out of the town alot... |
