About this location
The Canary Islands region
Las Burras is nestled in a small cove with clean, fine sand and medium-sized waves for boogie boarding or simply to play in. It's safe and intimate, explaining why the first vacationers built properties there.
If you're as absentminded as some of us are, having the apartment just steps from your towel on the beach is a wonderful convenience. It's equally easy to sneak away for an after-midnight moonlit swim.
You can walk along uninterrupted beaches all the way from your front door to the Maspalomas light house at the extreme Southern end of the island -- a two-hour, 10-kilometer walk.
You'll see the Cochino beach, the Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas beach including its famed sand dunes and remote nude bathing area. The reward at the end of your morning is lunch at one of the new restaurants on Las Meloneras esplanade. From there, it's tempting to grab a taxi home, but if you do, remember to bring a shirt to comply with local taxi regulations.
