About the home

Newly built to a very high specification. Ground floor, fully air conditioned. 3 double bedrooms. 2 bathrooms. Satellite TV. Fully fitted kitchen, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, open plan lounge and dining area with 2 sofa beds. Private swimming pool with large sun terrace. Secluded yet only 2 minutes walk from one of the most beautiful beaches on Samos and about 1 mile from the coast of Turkey. There are several local Taverna’s and a mini market within easy reach. Please note: the accommodation occupies the whole of the ground floor area and private pool. The owner has a small apartment on the 1st floor which is not let out and used only when the owner is in Samos.

The Aegean Islands region

It is occupied at the greater part of its extent by the Kerketeus range of mountains, of which the highest summit is the peak Vigla, at 1,434 m (4,705 ft.) above sea level, near its western extremity, called Mount Kerkis. The range is in fact a continuation of that of Mount Mycale on the mainland, of which the promontory of Trogilium, immediately opposite to the city of Samos, formed the extreme point.

The Samos Island / Psili Ammos area

Samos is probably the Greek's best kept secret. Birthplace of Pythagoras this beautiful Island is covered with pure white sandy beaches, picturesque villages and fishing harbours.

Samos Town and harbour hosts a number of excellent Taverna's and shops and is less than 20 minutes drive away. 20 minutes in the opposite direction is Pythagoreio, a small picturesque harbour with small boats and yachts and is the starting point for many sea excursions.

Throughout the island beautiful monasteries can be found usually high into the mountains giving breathtaking views of the island.

Samos is closer to Asia Minor than any other Greek Island and constitutes the bridge between Greece and the East. Car hire is approximately 20 euros a day depending on the time of season, taxi’s are very good value. Mopeds and scooters are also a very popular way of exploring the island. The area of the island is 478 km², 43 km long and 13 km wide. It is one of the principal and most fertile of the islands of the Aegean Sea that closely adjoin Anatolia , from which it is separated by a strait of one mile in width.

Daily flights throughout the year from Heathrow and Gatwick to Samos via Athens.

Charter flights from Gatwick and Manchester direct to Samos every Thursday during the summer season May to October. Ferries operate daily from Piraeus to Samos.

The airport is 20 minutes away. A car can be hired from the airport, scooters and mopeds are very popular. A car is not essential as taxis are cheap.

The Town of Samos with its harbour and a vast number of tavernas is approximately 20 minutes by taxi, it also has excellent shopping.

Ferries arrive daily here from Athens. Pythagoreio has a small harbour and is approximately 15 mins away. Many island excursions go from here.

Olympic Airways operate daily from Heathrow & Gatwick to Samos via Athens. Thomson fly direct from Gatwick & Manchester to Samos every Thursday during the summer season May to October.
