The Shropshire region
Sambrook is a small rural village surrounded by farmland, it is on the border of Shropshire & Staffordshire making it an ideal place to stay & explore both counties.
Shropshire is famous for Ironbrige the world heritage site & Shrewsbury has an excellent range of interesting places and individual shops to explore both are aprox 15 miles from Sambrook.
Staffordshire has the history of the potteries with the wedgwood visitor center, Gladstone & Emma Bridgwater and the county town of stafford are aprox 15 -20 miles away.
Sambrook is inbetween the market towns of Newport & Market Drayton both of which have supermarkets, pubs, cafe's & individual shops. Local walks & cycle rides are on the door step, Golf, fishing and horse riding are all with in a few miles as well as many National trust properties & theme parks there is something for everyone near by. The cottage is self catering but if you fancy a night off then The Three Horseshoes in Sambrook is within walking distance and is known locally for it's excellent menu.

"Brilliant accomadtion plenty to do"
Stayed for 3 nights and wished where'd booked for longer. The photos on the web site didn't do it justice. The grandchildren enjoyed feeding the chickens and the baby calf. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend Sambrook Manor Cottages for a great time away.

"Idyllic and practical"
My family - niece, nephew, sisters, husbands, my parents - stayed at Sambrook Manor Cottages in the run up to my wedding. The cottages themselves are brilliant and had everything we needed - from cots to dishwashers to plenty of space. The location is beautiful and nibbles the sheep provided much entertainment for the children. Sarah and family were both welcoming and non-intrusive at the same time. We would most definitely stay again if we were back in the area.
Thank you for your lovely review it was a pleasure to have you & all your family stay with us, I'm glad the cottage had everything you required for your stay including entertaining sheep! It would be great to see you again sometime.

"I want to live at the Sambrook Manor Cottages"
This was just an unbelievable experience. Beautiful place, beautiful weather and the most genuinely kind people we could have encountered. We were in town from the states for a wedding and this was our first time in Shropshire and I have to say, it was the highlight of our two week trip in the UK. Great location for day trips and an opportunity to see a nice slice of English life away from the big cities.
Thank you for your lovely review of Sambrook Manor cottages, I'm glad you enjoyed your first trip to Shropshire, it was great to meet you all and I would love to welcome you back again sometime.

"Five Star Self Catering Accommodation"
Our Group of 6 Adults and 2 Children (3 & 1) stayed for 3 nights at the Old Shippon to celebrate a 50th birthday.
The cottage is beautiful, layout is perfect, location outstanding and absolutely everything you need is catered for (even fresh-laid eggs!).
The weather was mixed during our stay, with the children really enjoying the outside space when sunny, but there was a Wii, DVDs and board games all to keep them entertained if it was wet too.
It was quite humid during our stay but I can imagine the under floor heating being very comforting during the winter.
Over-all I would highly recommend this accommodation and hope to be back at some point.
Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure having you stay and we would love to welcome you all back anytime when hopefully the sun will be shining.

"A perfect holiday home"
The Old Shippen is an extremely well thought-out conversion of farm buildings with every need catered for. Each of our group of four adults had a double bedroom with the two bathrooms (complete with towels and a basket of toiletries) conveniently situated to serve two bedrooms. The large central kitchen is very well equipped and fresh eggs, milk and flowers were awaiting us. The large lounge with its mezzanine floor has lovely views over the Shropshire countryside and opens onto a good size patio. The property is very well maintained, spotlessly clean and the the owners very helpful and friendly. I look forward very much to returning and hope for a longer stay next time.

"Really lovely cottage in a picturesque location"
We had a fantastic time at Sambrook Cottage. It's a great place for adults and kids alike. The kids especially loved the big garden with sheep to feed. There were loads of toys and games provided as well. The location is lovely with lots around to do and places to explore. I can't say enough how helpful the owners were (we had a nightmare with our car which could have ruined the trip if it wasn't for their help). I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a great time away from the usual busy lifestyle.

"Our stay at Sambrook was superb!"
Our stay at Sambrook was superb in every way. Dealing with Sarah was so easy and she went out of her way to make sure everything was organised for us. The cottage is very spacious and well appointed and includes everything you need for a comfortable stay. The thoughtful extras such as flowers, fresh fruit and eggs were indicative of Sarah's attention to detail.
The peaceful farm location is excellent and enables you to relax from the moment you arrive. We would highly recommend Sambrook as a holiday destination.

"Gorgeous barn conversion, excellent property manager and lovely Shropshire views."
Our wish list for the perfect Shropshire holiday accommodations and location was fully checked in all the right boxes when we stayed at The Shippon Cottage, Sambrook Manor Cottages in April 2013. The cottage was spacious with a very good floor plan and had all the bells and whistles that made it a home from home for our two-week stay.

Great layout really good living space, everything you need in the cottage.
Really friendly host, happy to help with our supermarket delivery and include us in some farm activities (feeding a baby lamb!).
Already thinking about returning.
The nearby Monkey Sanctuary is a great day out.
