Beautiful Holiday house Rental in la Somone on the small coast, 80 km south of DAKAR and 10 km from the resort of SALY. Idealy located above the bird sanctuary lagoon, in a nice estate, guarded 24/24, the house is surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden of 1800 square meters, closed and flowerful.
This is an outstanding place to spend holiday with your family or friends around the private swimming-pool circled by bougainvillers.
Our Villa located 1000 meters from the beach (Somone) 15 minutes by walk.
Thus, in the area there are other infinite beaches where you can take the sun on the hot sand or have a bath during the whole year (NGAPAROU beach-5 km, SALY beach10 km...).
Our staff will take great care of you while you stay with us, whether on vacation with your family or traveling on business
The house keeper (head of the staff) will cook the dishes that you wish, she can also help you discover some local dishes and take care of the groceries, she will make your stay most enjoyable. The maid is in charge of the cleaning (rooms included).
The reception at the airport of Dakar and the transport towards Somone can be organised at the same time of your booking.

The Central Senegal / Petit-Cote region

LAKE ROSE & KAYAR Lac Rose (also known as the Pink Lake or Lac Retba), a strange waterway full of salt, which is extracted by collectors. Enjoy lunch at the beautiful lakeside before taking a 4x4 drive over the sand dunes on the final stretch of the Paris-Dakar rally. You will end the day watching the fishermen’s arrival at Kayar, the biggest traditional fishing centre in Senegal. From Kayar You will drive back through the bush, crossing through Peul villages.
JOAL-FADIOUTH is a village at the southern end of the Petite Côte of Senegal. Joal lies on the mainland, while Fadiout, linked by a bridge, lies on an island of clam shells, which are also used in local architecture and crafts. The village has no motorised transport. It has large Christian and Muslim populations with cemeteries on another shell island. Another attraction is granaries on stilts in the water. (50 km from Somone)

SOMONE is a village on the Petite Côte in Senegal, lying approximately 80 km south of Dakar. For a stay in all tranquility, Somone is an ideal place which agreeably mixes the life of village of the lebou fishermen. Somone, an essential stage for starting the discovery of Senegal well.
THE LAGOON : There is an impressive ecological site strechted between the land and the sea and measures have been taken to preserve the natural balance of this unspoilt landscape.
Thus, the lagoon of Somone, with 7000 ha wide, has been classified as a nature reserve and a bird sanctuary for now 4 years, but people can enjoy to walk around and observing manies species of birds the whole year long : grey pelicans, then white pelicans in July (nearly 1200), seven species of herons, pink flamingos and so on.
And there are some places where people can swim in the lagoon.
You will also find all the trade and leisures : quad, fishing, jetski, windsurf, horse riding, kart, a nice 18 holes golf course, animal reserve, several restaurants and night-club.
LOCAL PLACE TO VISIT :
Artisanal Village, The Bush, The Baobab Forest (distance to property - 2 km) :
Shopping, gifts? Late in the afternoon, after a napcat, which is vital in Senegal, you may feel like going shopping. If you are looking for gifts to bring back to your friends and relatives, small shops offer many attractive handicrafts such as wooden sculptures, djembes, mauritanian pieces of jewellery and boubous, trousers and bags made out of african material.
Quad riding : is another way to discover the surroundings which combines adventure with comfort. Thus, you will discover the bush, the baobab forest and meet the inhabitants of the villages nearby. Then, you will stop for a well-deserved break on the beach and gaze at the sea and the lagoon. And lastly, you will come back the head full of images and memories that you will recall during the long winter evenings!
The Baobab Forest : According to what some people said an evil genius might have planted the wrong side of the baobabs up. Thus, the roots only jut out above in the air
The tann: The tann, squeezed between the lagoon and the baobab forest, is the only way and the starting point for beautiful walks in the bush and peul villages. In the wilderness you may observe a large number of different birds and if you are lucky enough you may catch sight of monkeys and jackals.

The price include: - a fully equipped house, sheets and towels, - maid service for cooking, cleaning, ironing 6 days/week - a gardener who takes care of the garden and the swimming pool 6 days/week . The price doesn't include consumption of electricity and water . We will require a 30% deposit to hold the reservation.
