The West Country region

Cornwall offers everything for a great holiday. Visit beautiful beaches, enjoy surfing, fantastic coastal walking, old fishing villages such as Polperro, Looe, Fowey or Padstoiw.

There is the amazing Eden Project and nearby the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan. Cornwall has castles such as St Mawes, Launceston, Restormel, or National Trust properties such as Lanhydrock, Anthony House or Cotehele.

As with any area close to the sea, Cornwalls climate is changeable, but generally warm with good sunshine in the summer months.

The Tamar Valley offers beautiful secluded scenery. Cotehele House is a well known manor with its restored mill and quays, and boat / canoe trips are well worth making.

Pillaton was listed in the Doomsday Book and is well known for its 12th century church and adjacent Weary Friar Inn - only a 10 minute walk from Rowse.

"Beautifully appointed cottage in quiet yet accessable location"

Skyber cottage is a beautifully converted old farm building with a light and airy modern interior. Set in rural surroundings between Pillaton and St Mellion it benefits from amazing views and country walks yet is not far to the nearest shops and attractions. The cottage itself was warm and welcoming with every amenity you could ever need (and more! Thank you for the delicious home made cream tea). The decor is very homely and extremely clean and tidy - we felt like we were the first people to stay. The free membership at nearby St Mellion Golf & Country Club was a huge hit with our children who spent hours in the lovely warm swimming pool. We also found an excellent playground in nearby Pillaton which could be followed by a nice lunch in the local pub The Weary Friar - all within walking distance. The horses, chickens and Bruno the dog were also popular with the youngsters. I would have no hesitation in recommending Skyber to anyone wishing to have a relaxing holiday in rural Cornwall. Our thanks to the owners Mr & Mrs Martin for our wonderful break!
