Home description

Large air conditioned 95m2 apartment three bedroom s , two bathrooms,and a sun terrace of 20m2,with fabulous views over the sea to Mallorca and of the Montsant mountains. Very convenient location only a short walk to the beach(75 metres) Capellans beach has 220 metres of fine golden sand ,very gently sloping ,giving very safe bathing for all ages.It has all facilities,life guard,first aid ,sunbed and shade hire ,pedalos.sail boat and wind surfer hire.etc
There are several very good restaurants and bars within 5 minutes walk ,the main shopping street is about 8 minutes walk.
Salou has an amazing selection of very good night clubs with a range of entertainment and very reasonable prices, all within walking distance.

The Costa Dorada/Tarragona region

Salou was originally a Roman port,later invaded by the saracens from north africa, in mediaeval times it was used as a base for pirates. Tourism took off in the 60,s and today has developed into a truly cosmopolitan resort with something for everyone.
The climate is mediterranean ,low humidity,temperatures in winter of 55-60 deg,spring 63-70, and summer 73-90 degrees. In summer ther are gentle cooling sea breezes. There is very little rainfall ,this tends to be mainly in Mar/April and Oct/ Nov and usually consists of short duration very heavy showers sometimes with impressive electrical activity followed by a return of the sun.


Salou area

Port Aventura ,universal studios vast 300 acre theme park with the amazing dragon Khan 50 kph roller coaster ride is 15 minutes by bus from the apartment. Next door is the Caribe water park with a vast range of exciting water splashes ,tube rides etc.
Aquopolis in La Pineada ,also a 15 minute bus ride is another excellent water park with simulated white water rafting and many other attractions.
Roman Tarragona with its many well preserved examples of their engineering is a 20 minute bus ride , and Reus which is a mecca for shoppers with over 1000 shops in the centre is also a 20 minute ride .
The bus stop is a few minutes walk at the end of the road.
For lovers of golf there are three very good 18 hole golf courses within 20 minutes .All are beautifully designed and landscaped and have very good value green fees. See www.bonmont.com for more details.

Ryanair have daily flights to Reus from Dublin,Frankfurt, Glasgow, Liverpool, Luton, Stanstead.
Thompsonfly have a May to October service currently two flights weekly from Leeds, Newcastle, and Manchester.

Easy jet fly into Barcelona which is about 65 miles from Salou,from various uk destinations.Train fare from airport to Salou is 5 gbp one way.

The apartment has been newly refurbished and the accommodation consists of main bedroom ,en suite, which has a hydromassage shower cabin fitted ,king size bed ,fitted wardrobes and safety deposit box.Sliding doors which open onto the sun terrace .Sea and mountain views.Two further good size bedrooms which have new single beds which can be joined to form doubles if required.Fitted wardrobes.Family bathroom with bath,w.c ,basin.
Spacious louge -dining area which has extending dining table with seating for 6-8 persons,two leather sofas,large screen T.V , D.V.D , C.D stereo ,mp3 player, sliding doors which open onto sun terrace which has table and chairs,and a full length electrically operated sun parasol.
Large kitchen fully equipped,touch control halogen hob,separate eyelevel oven,utility room with new washing machine and clothes drying area. All cutlery,crockery,glasses ,pans etc provided.N.B we provide hand and tea towels but not beach towels. The apartment has an automatic door entry system and there is also a live in very helpful care taker on the ground floor.Welcome pack to get you started with bread,milk, eggs, tea,coffee,and bottle of sparkling cava.

Further details outdoors:
There is a small well cared for garden at the entrance to the apartments,and although the apartments do not have a swimming pool the adjacent hotels do ,and generally speaking as long as you buy refreshments at the hotel poolside bars you may swim.However as the sea is only 75 metres and has safe bathing for all ages it is not usually necessary.There is a children's play area directly opposite the apartment.


Conditions

Reservations can be made and we will hold these for 5 days thereafter we require a deposit of 20% (minimum 100 euros) to confirm your reservation.Balance of the money is due no later than 8 weeks prior to arrival date.
We will mail you keys to the apartment two weeks prior to your arrival date.Included will be directions to give to the taxi driver .the taxi rank is located immediately outside the arrivals door .The trip takes 20 mins ,and costs 15 euros (about ten gbp).
We require a security deposit of 200 euros for breakages wiwhich will be retuned immediately after rental period.All breakages must be paid for and will be deducted from this deposit.
