About the home

This beautiful house is in Cornillon-Confoux, a perched village in the heart of Provence. La Bergerie des Remparts is situated on the village's medieval ramparts and has a magnificent panoramic views from the balcony. It is located almost midway between Aix-en-Provence and Arles, each a 30 minute drive. The large cities of Marseille, Avignon, and Nimes are within an easy drive. You can visit many museums, historical sites, or shop in designer stores. There are wonderful outdoor markets in all the towns, and there are many delicious restaurants nearby.

The house has been recently completely renovated and decorated with a mix of comfortable furniture, antiques, and modern conveniences; but it retains its centuries old charm. On the ground floor are the living room, dining area and kitchen. The stairs lead up to the master bedroom, front sitting room/bedroom with balcony, and the bathroom. There is an attached locked garage, a fully equipped kitchen and a wood burning fireplace.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Bouches-du-Rhone region

Cornillon-Confoux is in the heart of Provence. There are many sites of historical interest to see, the nearest one being a Roman bridge several hundred yards down the river that flows through the commune. There are Roman theatres and arenas in several nearby towns. The area has many vineyards and olive groves.

There are wonderful outdoor markets year round; almost every town has one. There are four distinct seasons, each with something to offer. There is often snow in the winter, wild flowers in the spring, cicadas and warmth in the summer, and beautiful colour in the fall. There are many festivals, and local traditions are still celebrated.

The Salon de Provence / Cornillon-Confoux area

The village several festivals every year - flowers in April, music in June, Liberation of Provence in August, Christmas fair in December. There are excellent restaurants within 10 km.

The commune has a tennis court, and a municipal pool is 10 km away in Salon de Provence. There is a small grocery store in the village. The town of Grans, 5 km away, has bread and pastry shops, restaurants, a produce store, small grocery, a butcher, and a pharmacy.

There are two active soap factories in Salon that still make soap using olive oil in the traditional manner.
