Villa Tranquila is situated on a quiet cul–de-sac on the hillside of the prestigious Monte de los Almendros urbanisation in Salobrena, looking towards the Mediterranean. South facing and set against palm and fruit trees (lemon, grapefruit, guava, orange, almonds, apricot, figs, apricot etc), this villa offers stunning views of the Mediterranean from every room and from the multi-level large terraces surrounding the Villa.

The villa is not overlooked and is large enough to accommodate 2 families wishing to holiday together as it has 4 large bedrooms and two kitchens, one on each floor, therefore ideal for two families on vacation together. This is one of the few villas which has four en-suite luxury bathrooms. Internet access is provided as is a laptop computer. This is the perfect place for a family 'bonding' holiday and for individuals wishing to enjoy privacy and calm with a beautiful setting.

Multi-level terraces with a barbecue area and a private heated pool. Residents can also use the community facilities on the Monte which include two swimming pools and a tennis, basketball and football court. The villa does not overlook and is not overlooked by other villas. Sunny and shaded terraces. Patio set of table and chairs, sun loungers and sun chairs. Secure parking in two garages and additional parking for four cars. The swimming pool has an oil-fired heating system with an energy efficient heat pump and thermal cover. There is an outside hot tub / Jacuzzi to while away the evenings,

This Villa is perfect for all outdoor activities, especially swimming, walking, Golf, horse riding, mountain biking and skiing (in season). The large community swimming pool, children's pool, playground, tennis court and football pitch are a short walking distance away and free of charge to our guests. There is a large aqua park a few minutes drive away in Almunecar.

The Costa Tropical/Granada region

Salobrena, is located in the heart of the Costa Tropical, and is one of the prettiest towns in southern Spain with its winding narrow streets and magnificent Moorish castle perched high on the hill. The climate is sub-tropical with a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius in winter & 25 degrees in summer.

Outdoor activities include, walking, climbing, water sports, golf, horse riding, hang gliding and even skiing in the Sierra Nevada. Granada, the Moorish capital with the breathtaking Alhambra Palace and relaxing thermal spas are only 45 minutes away, Malaga 1 hr, Nerja 30 minutes, Almunecar waterpark 15 minutes.

Salobrena is situated in Costa Tropical in Granada, in the south of Spain. Salobrena enjoys a stunning coastline and easy access to the snowed mountains of the Sierra Nevada. You therefore have access to nice beaches, and diving on the one hand and a chance to ski on the other. This makes it a delightful place to visit, at any time of the year.

The centre of Salobreña, which is built on an impressive rock, is a maze of white houses making up the picturesque districts of Brocal, Albaycín, La Fuente and La Loma.

Right on top of the rock, 105 metres above sea level, is the Arabic
fortified castle, the Castillo. Every year the castle attracts thousands of visitors, and the best views of Salobrena are from this high point.

Just below the castle is the parish church, built on the site of an old mosque and distinguished by a Moorish style arch.

The wide beach of Salobrena is split in two by the Peñon rock. The beach, is the location of several “chiringuitos” (beach bars), very popular restaurants and bars for locals and tourists alike.

Salobreña has its share of traditional festivals and fairs. Semana Santa (Holy Week) is worth experiencing just to see how on earth they manage to carry the “tronos”, up and down the awkwardly narrow sloping streets. Then from the 24th to the 29th of June the people of Salobreña celebrate San Juan and San Pedro fair which is followed in October by the festival in honour of the Virgin of the Rosario, the patron of Salobreña.

The summer season brings many concerts and shows to Salobreña, many of which take place by night in the spectacular setting of the Arabic castle. One of these events not to be missed is the “Lucero del Alba” flamenco festival turning the historic castle into a romantic setting for a delightful display of traditional music and dancing. In addition, it is worth checking out the surrounding towns such as Almunicar which hosts a 10 day international Jazz festival in the Majuela Park.

All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with double sinks, bidet, and shower.

There are two large lounges one on each floor, with seating capacity on both floors. Double beds in three rooms and two singles in one room.

Two kitchens, one on each floor. Each kitchen with cooker, fridge, freezer, toaster etc, Marble tops and full cutlery. Dining table and chairs in top lounge. Seating on all terraces. First terrace with barbecue and seating.

There are games, Sky TV, DVD player etc.

Parking is provided for for 5/6 cars.

An outside Wine / relaxation room is provided with seating to while away the hot afternoons. The villa has a picturesque garden set among palm trees. In addition the large outside plot includes various fruit trees - lemon, grapefruit, guava, orange, almonds, apricot, figs, etc. Try new cocktails with the fruit from the trees!

My family and I stayed at the Villa for a week to celebrate my brothers 60th birthday. What an amazing time we had! My husband and I have stayed in two other villas in Granada this villa was far more superior than them all. It was easy to find, clean with every possible comfort we could wish for. My youngest brother would have wished to have a bar of his own. This wish was granted the pool bar was stocked all week. My eldest brother craves seclusion, this was also granted. My eldest sister likes the privicy of a bathroom of her own - granted. My husband likes to walk and enjoys exploring the hills and shoreline- granted. My sister in law likes the shops - granted. My other sister in law likes to swim- granted. Myself the enjoyment of the beautiful views and the pleasure of well stocked gardens also the ability to pick fruit for our many exotic drinks supplied by my brother at the pool bar. The beautiful fragrance of jasmine which was located by the entrance was amazing. We all would recomend this villa to young and old and would have no hesitation to recommend to friends. We will return.

Our first stay in December in a family group was so good that we returned the following year. Weather there was good even in winter. The villa was spacious, well-equipped & clean and situated in a quiet area. Great views over the coast while having a BBQ on the terrace. The family-sized pool was put to good use and having a jacuzzi under the stars was memorable ! We enjoyed trips to the Nerja caves and Alhambra. Salobrena is a picturesque town and doesn't have the crowds found in Malaga.
Thoroughly recommended !

We had a 2 weeks marvellous holiday in villa Tranquilla.
All of our children, including our 1 year old twin, enjoyed the big swimming pool and jacuzzi.
The villa is very luxurious and spacy, it has everything you need for a great holiday. It is situated in a calm residence and has a marvellous seaview.
We would recommend this very clean villa to everyone!!!!
We sure will come back to this place!!!!

We stayed for two weeks at the end of April 2008.
We have rented many villas both in Europe and the USA.

This villa was one of the best. It was spacious and lived up to its description given on the web site but better still it also lived up to all our expectations.

The villa was clean and well cared for and I would thoroughly reccomend it to anyone.

The only downside was that we had to come back home!

Our March experience here was superb and blessed with good weather! Grandparents, parents and kiddies... The spaciousness and facilities provided opportunities of togetherness, boltholes of calm, an excellent laundry and comfort day and night. 'Loved the snug leather suite in the lounge, the relaxing balcony furniture with great sea views, the the multiperson swing beside the orchard, the range of kitchen tools, the extra TV in the games area downstairs, the email access, the luxurious cotton bedsheets and duvets, fun in the warm pool for all the family and the opportunity to ski... our skiers had a great day in the Sierra Nevada just over an hour away via Granada.

The beach we enjoyed the most we accessed via Velillia, near Almunecar, then doubling back over a twisting road up and over a headland and parking close to a big pink hotel at Cabria Playa. This beach might get busy in high season. Worth the effort off season. The two bar/ restaurants were a few steps to the sandy beach (no cars) and rockpools around the headland. We enjoyed the meal at the second eaterie... obliging staff, especially with the vegetarian in our party. Another restaurant to note, Meson Francisco II, Almunecar.. excellent food and service.

Villa Tranquilla was well sited for our needs and we would seriously consider returning.

The villa was "as advertised." Accommodations were clean; views from all the balconies were exquisite. The town of Salobreña is charming--with some excellent restaurants, lovely beach walks, and its very own castle. The owner was easy to deal with and responded promptly to email queries when I was making vacation arrangements. We will certainly recommend the villa to our friends.

Very comfortable and clean villa. Free internet access. Telephone line. Garden with free-to-pick oranges, lemons and grapefruits. Big veranda with lots of sun. Adequate parking space for four cars. Must use car for going to the beach, restaurants and shops. Easy to contact pleasant caretaker who responds quickly. Was there also last year and hope to return next year. Would recommend the villa to retired friends.
