VILLA MAEVE (villa)

Home description

Villa Maeve is a charming south - facing residence on a quiet street in the very popular and exclusive Monte de los Almendros. The villa has a heated swimming pool, with a non -chlorinated filtration system and is also just minutes from the community sports centre with its adult and children pools, playground, basketball and soccer area and tennis court. A pass card is provided for our guests

The car park is tiled and just steps away from a mature garden with a large variety of plants and trees. A white gravel path leads through the garden to a spacious terrace with a pool and a breathtaking view of Salobrena castle, the Mediterranean and the surrounding countryside. From the partially covered terrace, a sliding door will take you into an open–plan living /dining room with a fireplace. For entertainment the residence is equipped with television (English and German Satellites), DVD player, a stereo system and wireless internet connection ...with an extensive library of books, CDs and DVDs.

The villa can sleep 6 to 8 persons comfortably as it has three double bedrooms suitable for adults and one semi private bedroom with superimposed single beds more appropriate for children or adolescents. There is also a double sofabed in the Burma room. All rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated..
There is one full bathroom with a bath, toilet and bidet, a shower room, and a separate toilet and washbasin area. Two of the bedrooms also have a washbasin. There is a covered laundry area outside the back of the house with a washing machine and lines to hang laundry in the fresh air.

The large American style kitchen is modern and fully equipped with a fridge /freezer, oven /ceramic stove, hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, raclette and fondue machines etc. All cleaning products are made available as are many essentials for cooking such as oil, spices, teas, coffee, sugar etc.

Linen and towels are provided and are changed every week Beach necessities such as umbrellas, beach towels and paddle games are also provided.

The Costa Tropical/Granada region

The ancient city of Granada with its magnificent Alhambra Palace is less than an hour away on an excellent highway . The quaint villages of the Alpujarra, where one can still see original crafts of the area being created, are a mere 40 minutes drive from Salobrena.

Salobrena / Monte de Los Almendros area

Villa Maeve’s situation on the Monte Los Almendros offers not only magnificent views of the many beautiful villas and the surrounding sights but is also privileged to be close to many of Spain’s most picturesque, charming and historical tourist destinations. The Los Moriscos Golf Club with a lovely restaurant and terrace is just five minutes by car. The Sierra Nevada ski resort "Sol y Nieve", Spain's highest and most famous ski resort, is 90 minutes by car and gives residents the unique possibility of enjoying a morning of skiing…. and then an afternoon of lounging or swimming in the heated pool, overlooking the Mediterranean. Outside of the ski season, the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains are ideal for picnics and hiking.

Salobrena enjoys the warmest and sunniest winters in Europe while benefiting from the most pleasant summers on the southern coast of Spain. This microclimate is made possible by the nearby Sierra Nevada mountain range which shields it from the extremes of summer heat and winter cold. Another plus is Salobrena's truly Spanish culture and flavor, with foreigners still in the minority. Spanish traditions are not just alive on fiesta days but also on a daily basis. Even the charming tradition of serving free tapas with every drink, still exists in most bars.

How to get there

When the new motorway from Malaga is finished. Salobrena will be about an hour's drive, from three international airports ( Malaga, Granada and Almeria) where airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair offer low cost flights from many European cities.

From Malaga Airport follow the road signs for Motril and Almeria .
When you pass Almunecar, Salobrena is the next town.
The Monte los Almendros is located before Salobrena just a couple of kilometers past the Salobrena Hotel
Turn left from the main road at the traffic lights at Caleta Village . Entrance to the Monte los Almendros is safely made from a separate left turn lane regulated by these traffic lights
Follow the road straight to the Monte recreation area swimming pool
Immediately after swimming pool , take first road to the right ...calle Eucalipto
Road will wind to the left , then to the right . At the fork ...stay right...on calle Eucalipto.
Villa Maeve is the second house (number 2507) on the left side ...with a parking spot and a wall of bougainvillea.

-Any day and time of arrival will be accommodated whenever possible.
-A welcome package can be supplied for late arrivals at a cost of 20 euros plus cost of food items selected
-The location for meeting our agent and picking up the villa key will be communicated at least a week in advance..
-Your date and time of arrival should be communicated to us at least a week before your vacation begins
- Pets are welcome,but owner should be advised as extra charges are required.
-A fresh set of linen and towels (one bath, one hand, one beach) will be provided for each guest every week of your stay.
-Property is not cleaned during your stay, but cleaning services can be provided and paid locally.
-Babysitting services are also available upon request.
-An information booklet is provided to answer any questions you may have about where to eat, areas to visit etc

Conditions

!.A deposit of 50% is required on confirmation of booking and the remainder at least a month before arrival.
2.A security deposit of 150 euros or 100 pounds to cover possible damage or breakage will be deposited in cash upon your arrival . This will be returned on the day of departure after inspection of the premises.
3. Cancellation of a booking more than a month prior to arrival will be reimbursed in full, with deductions for costs incurred.
4.Any cancellations after that period regardless of the reason, will be reimbursed at the following rates:
A month prior . 50% of total cost of booking
Three weeks prior. 25% of total cost of booking
Two weeks prior . 10% of total cost of booking
One week prior. No reimbursenment
