About the home
Villa Maeve is a charming and comfortable south - facing residence in the very popular and exclusive Monte de los Almendros. A car park is just steps from a mature garden with a large variety of plants and trees. A white gravel path leads through the garden to three spacious terraces with breathtaking views of Salobrena castle, the Mediterranean and the surrounding countryside.
From the pool terrace, a sliding door takes you into an open–plan living /dining area with a fireplace.. For entertainment the residence is equipped with free internet access, television (English, French and German Satellite channes), a DVD player, a stereo, a variety of sports equipment, board games and an extensive library of books, CDs and DVDs.
The villa sleeps 2 to 8 persons comfortably in three spacious bedrooms suitable for adults and one bedroom with superimposed single beds more appropriate for children or adolescents. There is also a double sofabed in the Burma room. The Master bedroom and the Singles bedrooms have recently been tastefully redecorated. The bedroom linen and towels as well as beach towels are provided.
The large American style kitchen is modern and fully equipped with a fridge /freezer, oven /ceramic stove, hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, raclette and fondue machines etc. Cleaning products are made available as are many essentials for cooking such as oil, spices, teas, coffee, sugar etc.

- Any day and time of arrival and departure will be accommodated whenever possible.
- A welcome package can be supplied for a late or Sunday arrival at a cost of 20 euros plus price of food items selected.
- The location for meeting our agent and picking up the villa key will be communicated upon reservation
- Some small pets are welcome, but be advised that extra charges are required
- Smokers are welcome BUT smoking is not allowed inside the villa as there are several terraces with breathtaking views for this purpose.
- Property is not cleaned during your stay, but cleaning services can be provided and paid locally.
- Babysitting services are available upon request.
- An information booklet is provided to answer any questions you may have about where to eat, areas to visit etc
- A 200 Euro security deposit will be requested in cash upon arrival, to cover possible damages, but will be returned before your departure, if all is well in the house, pool and garden.
Conditions
!.A deposit of 50% is required on confirmation of booking and can be paid by bank transfer or with a credit card via Paypal. The remainder needs to be paid one month before the holiday
2.A security deposit of 200 euros (or 200 pounds sterling) to cover possible damage or breakage will be deposited in cash upon your arrival . This will be returned on the day of departure after inspection of the premises.
3. Cancellation of a booking more than a month prior to arrival will be reimbursed in full, with deductions for costs incurred.
4.Any cancellations after that period, regardless of the reason, will be reimbursed at the following rates:
A month prior - 50% of total money deposited
Three weeks prior - 25% of total money deposited
Two weeks or less prior - No reimbursement

Salobrena's major plus is that it enjoys the warmest and sunniest winters in Europe while benefiting from the most pleasant summers on the southern coast of Spain. This microclimate is made possible by the nearby Sierra Nevada mountain range which shields it from the extremes of summer heat and winter cold. Another plus is Salobrena's truly Spanish culture and flavor, with foreigners still in the minority. Spanish traditions are not just alive on fiesta days but also on a daily basis. Even the charming tradition of serving free tapas with every drink, still exists in most bars and restaurants.
The Salobrena / Monte de Los Almendros area
Villa Maeve’s situation on the Monte Los Almendros offers not only magnificent views of the many beautiful villas and the surrounding sights but is also privileged to be close to many of Spain’s most picturesque, charming and historical tourist destinations. The ancient city of Granada with its magnificent Alhambra Palace is less than an hour away on an excellent highway . The quaint villages of the Alpujarra, where one can still see original crafts of the area being created, are a mere 40 minute drive.For the sports lover the Los Moriscos Golf Club with a lovely restaurant and terrace is just five minutes by car.
The Sierra Nevada ski resort "Sol y Nieve", Spain's highest and most famous ski resort, is 90 minutes by car and gives visitors the unique possibility of enjoying a morning of skiing…. and then an afternoon of lounging or swimming in Villa Maeve's heated pool, overlooking the Mediterranean. Outside of the ski season, the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains are ideal for picnics and hiking.

Now that the new motorway from Malaga is completed, Salobrena is approximately a one hour drive from three international airports ( Malaga, Granada and Almeria) Airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair offer low cost flights from many European cities.
From Malaga Airport follow the signs for Malaga, then take the A7/E15 toward Motril and Almería. This is the main coastal dual carriageway
When you exit the motorway, Salobrena is the next town.
The Monte de los Almendros is located before Salobrena just a couple of kilometers past the Best Western Salobrena Hotel
Turn left from the main road at the traffic lights at Caleta Village . Entrance to the Monte los Almendros is safely made from a separate left turn lane regulated by these traffic lights
Follow the main road to the Monte recreation area swimming pool and tennis court
Immediately after swimming pool , take first road to the right ...calle Granadino 3
Road will wind to the left , to Calle Eucalipto - then to the right . At the fork ...stay right...on calle Eucalipto.
Villa Maeve is the second house (number 2507) on the left side ...with a parking spot and a wall of bougainvillea.

Quiet location with beautiful views. less than 10 minute drive to beautiful town, supermarket and the beach. One hour drive to the high Sierras. You can walk in the snow in the morning and have a stroll along the beach in the evening. The owners care about the guests. Great value for money. |

Good traditional style villa with a very homely feel . Lovely salt water pool which the children enjoyed very much. Quiet location with fantastic views . The villa offers all the facilities you need for a good family holiday. The owner was particularly helpful with all the booking pre holiday questions and the local agent was very friendly and helpful. |
